Narrator's pov

Soaked in dust and completely lost in another world, Summer sat at the back bend. The bench where it all started
Again, the bench was empty while the entire which had been occupied and full
Fortunately the last bench was a few feet away from the rest of the worships which gave her privacy with her thoughts
She had been covered in dust from cleaning and didn't return home to change
How could she either way, her knees had given out with the overwhelming sensation and constant flashbacks that drove her up a wall
So there she sat with her eyes to the floor and a dusty denim jacket in the church service
She had no idea where her mind was. It had completely been taken over by her emotions despite the fight of reality
She avoided everyone knowing her mother would be cussing under her breath if she noticed what she was wearing
Thankfully her parents were still in the first row, far away
The worshippers stood to their feet and clapped to the rhythm of the choir
Hell, she had completely forgotten that she had to be apart of that
Their feet stomped to the ground and hands created life of music, followed by the vocals from their mouths
Summer still sat there with her mind warped, hoping for something to make sense
Suddenly, a small creaking sound was heard. Her head turned slightly to the left, seeing that Melanie had sat down
She furrowed her brows at the girl but then realized she had probably left to change her clothing for church attire, making her miss out on the choir
Indeed she was in a different state, her hair was damp and flowed over her back, a dress started at her neck and hugged her body firmly, stopping a bit past her knees. Her shoulders had a veil design to her wrist. Summer couldn't help but stare, there was such a ray prettiness to her that she would never see in her own eyes
But Summer would gladly appreciate it for the both of them
Melanie's eyes avoided her at all costs, staring towards the front where her father stood at the podium, rocking back and forth to the movements
"So are you going to ignore me now?" She asked
"I'm not ignoring you" Melanie said, her eyes still not moving from her stare
"Then look at me" Summer said
"I rather not-"
"Because you'll wanna fuck me if you look over here?" Summer smirked
The brunette's eyes widened as her neck snapped towards the girl quickly. Summer couldn't help but let out her laughter at the girl's reaction
"Knew it"
"I do not!"
"Sure about that?" Summer smirked
The girl then slid closer to the brunette, their shoulders braced against each other while their attention faced forward, not making it obvious of their conversation
"I'm sure" Melanie said
Summer chuckled as she shook her head, taking a glance over at the girl
"You look nice" She said
