Narrator's pov

From the rich brown earthen hues of the forest ground to the sweetness of the blue-white sky, the forest was a three dimensional wonderland for the eyes who were willing to absorb the light
The trees were soft, damp, yet Summer's fingers came away dry when dragging them across the bark. She tilted her head upward, feeling her hair tumble further down her back, the pines were several houses tall, reaching toward the golden rays of spring
Birdsong came in lulls and bursts, the silence and the singing working together as well as any improvised melody
A new smile painted itself upon Melanie's freckled face, rose-pink lips semi-illuminated by the dappled light
Her eyes always looked memorizing under the sun's rays, hues and frecks of brown dotted orbs melted Summer's heart

The girl's punk expression was bow red, her cheeks burning of blush as she turned her head away, trying not to make it obvious. Well, more than it was already
"SHUT. UP"
Summer chuckled as she walked behind the girl, the crunches of small twigs bent and crushed under their feet as they trailed through the dirt path
"Tell me something about yourself" Summer said
"Like what?"
"I don't know much about you. Melanie Robbins"
Summer's eyes landed on the body of water flowing down the edge of the bank. Finally they had arrived at the lake. The lake met the sun with such grace that, as if the two of them were so enchanted by eternal dances
The lake nurtured the fish within her as the mountains nurtured her calm and steady waters
Summer leaned over the reflective blues of the water, seeing her own reflection in the ripple. Her eyes then landed on the greens, the willing canvas of mountain and sky, brought its own artistic watercolour effect to the daytime
It was simply beautiful, Summer sat on the edge of the lake as the water drifted past her eyes
Melanie followed along by dipping low to sit on the groun-
