"Okay, are you both set up?" Don asks Lancey and I. We both nod. "Lancey, do you need me to translate for you?" He continues.

"Jerome taught me Bacca. I will be fine, thank you." Lancey responds. Don nods, surprised, then hits the meeting bell with a large shovel. After a few minutes baccas trickle in, whispers hanging in the air. After everyone is calmed, Don addresses the crowd. "Jerome has returned!" He shouts. Jubilee ensues. Baccas clap, hiss, and growl all at once. I raise a paw to quiet them, then say my bit.

"Friends, baccas, country men. Lend me your paws. I have returned only for a few days, then I must leave. My friend, Lancey, needs to meet his family, too." I explain. Lancey nods, confirming what I say. At this everyone goes silent. Then, a cheer grows from the back. Soon, all but one person is cheering. Mitch is somber, staring at me wit disgust in his eyes.

"Lancey, we should leave. You need to see your family." I whisper. Lancey nods, then we race off. Don leaves us be, but a few baccas pursue. We quickly loose them, however, and are left alone in the woods. After a while we slow, and catch our breath. "That. Was. Awesome!" Lancey shouts, laughing crazily. I can not help but agree. Soon enough we are both merrily laughing. We force ourselves to stop, then walk to a clearing. I place some leaves on the ground and shift into my human form in case any humans come across us. Lancey tightens his hat, then follows suit. We are about to drift off when we hear a rustle in the bushes. "Who is there?" I call. Lancey raises a stick, as if to defend himself. A man comes into the clearing. He has dark black hair, dark sunglasses, and a smirk on his face.

"Ian?" I say.
