CHAPTER 24
Several Years Later

"Hurry up Jean! Can't you drive this faster?" Eren yelled from the backseat as he tied his hair up into a messy bun, before he was thrown to the side by the sudden turn made by the ash-brown haired adult.

"Shut yer' trap! Why are you in such a rush!? She's fine!!" Jean yelled as he turned once again. The car let out a screech as it did a full one-eighty turn and perfectly parked in between two cars. "Heh, I can still nail my parallel parking." Jean grinned at his achievement.

"Great you want a medal for that or are you going to get out of the fucking car?" Eren asked as he kicked the door open and began to run up the stairs.

"Hey! Don't kick the door open! There's a handle for a reason, you idiot!!" Jean yelled as he got out of the car, locking it. Once the two reached the top of the stairs they immediately spotted the small blonde waving to them and calling out their names.

"Eren! Jean! Hurry up!" Armin yelled and ran into the building.

The two followed the blonde inside and towards the elevator, however there were no doors opening and as impatient as they were they quickly turned towards the stairs.

"Fuck what room was it?!" Eren asked as he raced up the stairs with Armin and Jean lagging behind him.

"Uh... 139!" Armin exclaimed and the brunette immediately ran up several stairs, he opened the door to check the rooms. Soon enough he arrived at the floor which contained the rooms one hundred to one hundred and fifty.

Eren pushed the door open and proceeded to run down the hall, looking at the numbers on the doors left and right. Suddenly he spotted Levi leaning against the wall with Hange beside him, there in between them was their seven-year-old girl, Anna.

Erwin stood beside Levi and his team soon came into view as they as well as Mikasa's friends arrived.

The brunette came to a stop, and he bent over, his hands on his knees and his breathing was heavy as he tried to recover his much-needed oxygen. Once he had recovered his breath the brunette opened his mouth to ask the group a question when he heard it.

The door swung open to reveal the doctor.

"Eren Jaeger?" He asked and he turned to meet the doctors' eyes.

"Y-Yes...?" Eren stuttered, his body finally feeling the fear coursing through his body. He took a deep breath in as the doctor smiled and nodded at him. He gulped and opened the door to the room.

The once audible sound of crying grew louder.

Eren's heart rate quickened, and he approached Mikasa, her tired face managed to pull a smile at the sight of the brunette. Tears streamed down her cheeks and Eren couldn't help but chuckle as he too, cried.

He sniffled and looked at the two children Mikasa held in her arms. Both were crying, very loudly, their small hands reaching out for their parents. Eren took one of the kids and looked at her.

"Hello... little Arjen... little Irene..." Eren chuckled and looked at Mikasa, his lips met her forehead then her lips. Mikasa rested her head on his shoulder as they held each of their kids, lulling them to quieten their cries.

The group then entered the room with Hange teasing Levi who couldn't help but cry for his niece's newborns. Erwin too couldn't help but smile as Levi held the two kids and scold his wife, he looked at Eren and smiled.

"Congratulations, Eren." He said.

"Thank you, sir." Eren wiped his tears away.

"Look at you Eren, you a father now!" Jean laughed as he slung his arm around Eren's neck and ruffled the brunette's hair, ruining his bun.

"Cut that out you horse!" Eren laughed as he re-tied his hair up.

Armin smiled and looked at the two small children in Mikasa's arms, "congratulations you two!" He grinned and felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to meet Annie's blue eyes, he smiled and hugged her before kissing her on the head.

"Yeah, I'll be saying that to you in a couple of months' times." Eren grinned at his best friend who just half-heartedly chuckled.

"Mikasa! I'm so happy for you!!!" Sasha sobbed as she hugged her best friend, the endless tears streaming down her cheeks. "I feel so proud, welcome to the mother club."

Mikasa couldn't help but laugh at her best friends same old actions, "thank you Sasha." She smiled and had said the same thing to Christa, Ymir, and Annie.

The time had passed on quickly and now only Eren and Mikasa were left in the room. Eren sat on the edge of the bed, his finger being held by Irene who let out an adorable giggle at the sight of her father.

Mikasa kissed the two children and rested her head on Eren's shoulder.

"I wasn't sure you were going to come," she said as Eren rested his head on hers, "after all you were busy with a mission, right?"

"Yeah... I did, actually I would've been here sooner if someone had told me earlier," Eren chuckled as he scratched his cheek, "Armin called Marco who literally threw the phone at me. I was in so much panic."

Mikasa giggled and pecked his cheek.

"I'm glad..." she smiled and took another glance at the two babies in her arms who were now sound asleep, "I love you so much... Eren."

The green-eyed adult looked at Mikasa and hugged her, "I love you too, Mikasa." He whispered, trying not to cry tears of happiness for what seemed to be the hundredth time.

"Aw is papa going to cry?" Mikasa teased and Eren shook his head and kissed her head.

"Shush, I'm happy and I'm allowed to cry." He chuckled.

The two looked at the sleeping newborn twins and smiled, "we love you... now and forever, Arjen... Irene." They whispered, and they stayed in the quiet room. They enjoyed each other's company as well as their newborn children's'.

The day had ended and Eren smiled at his now sleeping family. I couldn't be happier. He thought to himself as he closed his eyes, his smile still plastered on his face.
