Cecelia kicked her legs and waved her arms through the cold water, trying to stay afloat. She pushed her wet strands off her face and focused on the untamed waves. The dark water glinted against the silver light of the moon, and Cecelia smiled to herself. No matter how dangerous the ocean seemed, she couldn't help but yearn to take a swim in it. She made sure it was at night, since her father was always against the idea, he wanted her away from the ocean at all costs.

Ever since her older sister died of drowning, he became overprotective, and made a big deal of almost everything. Cecelia was only four when her sister passed away. She didn't really remember her that well. Sure, she felt sad and dejected that she lost her older sister, but she shouldn't just stop living and enjoying life because of that, she was sure her sister wouldn't want that for her. Cecelia has always wondered what she would have looked like now, or what kind of person could she have become, but she has been taken away from her, and she'll never know.

Cecelia immediately dived underwater once she spotted a huge wave coming her way. She loved the waves, that was odd to some people, but she just loved them. To her, they were like some sort of a roller coaster ride, but way better. To her, they were simply an escape. She kicked her legs harder and pushed her body upwards as bubbles surrounded her. Surfacing, she sucked in a deep breath and smoothed her wet hair back. It was getting darker and darker, and Cecelia had to go back home before her dad realizes that she's not in her bed. She swam to shore, and then made her way home, which was nearby.

She quietly clicked the door open and walked on her tiptoes to her room. As she entered through her bedroom door, she saw her little brother sleeping soundlessly on his bed. His lips were slightly parted and against his chest was his teddy bear. She had to share a room with him, not that she minded or anything, he was adorable, an adorable six-year-old.

She got her pajamas, a towel, and went into the bathroom to get a quick shower. She licked her salty lips as she turned the hot water on and stepped into the shower. Washing her light brown hair thoroughly, she grinned once she remembered that her mother was coming back tomorrow from her business trip, but her grandmother was also tagging along. She involuntarily groaned. Not that she doesn't like her grandma, it's the stories that she tells, that's what she doesn't like.

Cecelia tied her hair in a low, messy bun and hopped in bed. She lifted the covers above her and pressed her cheek against her pillow. Closing her eyes, she drifted off.

Waves were lapping against the rocks as I kept swimming and swimming, not wanting to get myself killed. I breathed in as I twisted and turned in the water, wanting to avoid getting carried by the killer waves. I heard a warm, mesmerizing, sing-song voice hum in my ears. "Come to me."

I whipped my head round, searching for the source of the voice, but I couldn't find anyone in these dark, lonely waters. I was alone, and I was now swallowing gulps of sea water as the waves kept coming at me, kept attacking me. Bitter tears ran down my wet face as I kicked my legs feebly, not having enough energy to swim my way to shore. Squinting my eyes at the last, thin ray of light, I sank underwater. As I went deeper and deeper, I heard that voice again, that gentle yet compelling voice that sent tingles throughout my entire body. "Swim for me."

Cecelia jolted awake with a gasp, she was breathing heavily as her chest rose and fell. She never had a dream that felt so real before. Her hand flew to her chest, feeling her heart beat erratically. She never actually drowned in her life, she was never afraid of the ocean, yet she had a dream – a nightmare about it. Her eyes widened as she recalled the voice that called to her. What the hell was that? As strange as her dream was, she couldn't help but want to hear that voice again, whoever he was. It was the most beautiful, enchanting voice she has ever heard, and the fact that she wanted to hear it again, worried her. It worried her a whole lot.
