Once in a Lifetime
(Genre: Kinda Fluff maybe?)

"Please.. Don't kill me!" you begged as a demon approached you, ready to shred and make a meal out of you.

Only if you'd arrived sooner, you and your siblings could've fled somewhere just to be safe. But you were late. Too late.

When you got home, you immediately noticed the pool of blood lying around the doorway. And just as you thought, your siblings are gone.

The demon quickly lunged itself at you, making you move as fast as you can only to get captured by it.

"My, a marechi! Who would've thought I'd be lucky tonight?" it said while laughing loudly. You tried your best to free yourself from its grasp but it was no use.

It was about to cut you in half but out of instinct, you squirmed even harder and you finally got out of its grasp. You headed for the door but then, you felt a sharp pain on your back.

You screamed, thinking you were gonna die here. You were about to loose consciousness that is until you heard a sharp sound, as if a blade slicing something in half.

"I'm sorry I didn't arrive soon enough..." you heard a deep voice say. You're vision was blurry until you finally lost consciousness.

You woke up groggily and you noticed that you're in a unfamiliar place. You looked around but saw no one. You tried to sit  but then you winced when you felt a sharp pain on your back.

And that's when you remembered the recent happenings. You teared up, knowing full well you're alone now.

Then suddenly, you heard someone come in the room and as you turned your gaze on the doorway, you found a tall muscular man walking towards you.

"How are you feeling?" he asked gently. You wiped your tears and then answered, "I feel fine. My wounds hurt a little but I'm fine."

There was a moment of silence until you decided to break it. "Th-thank you for saving me." you mumbled.

You were surprised that the stranger cried and then said, "I'm very sorry I couldn't save the others." he apologized.

"N-no! It's okay... I... I couldn't save them either." you said, tears threatening to fall down.

"I'm (Y/N) (L/N). It's a... Pleasure to meet you." you introduced.

" I'm Gyomei Himejima." You looked at him with awe realizing that a pillar saved you. You then sat straight, not caring how painful your wounds are.

"Do you want to become a demon slayer (Y/N)?" he asked, making you grin.

"I would love to, Himejima-san."

"Very well, I shall train you after you've healed. You shouldn't strain yourself. Rest well." and with that, he walked back outside.

You smiled, thinking somehow, you've got a chance to make your deceased family proud. And on top of that, you get to have a Pillar train you.
