I had gotten in home just a few minutes before my lady's maid was coming to my room. Anthony brought me on the back of his horse. Obviously ranting on about how I should not have ran in at the middle of a duel and Colin should not have brought me with him. But that did not matter any. I was not going to let my bestfriends do something so obnoxiously stupid.

"One may say modesty is a virtue, yet this author is hardly a virtuous woman, it is therefore my great pleasure to announce the news others questioned but I never doubted. The diamond of the season has made her match, officially betrothed to the duke of Hastings. The bride undoubtedly is giddy with anticipation over the impending nuptials...an event that will apparently take place sooner rather than later. Of course there are only two reasons to procure a special license and race to the altar: true love or concealing a scandal" Whistledown

I wince lightly as I read the final part of whistledown. There is no way they could get away with this. The Bridgerton name is far too high up. I, however, am not payed attention to. Sure I'm the "emerald of the season" but no one notices me and my possible suitors or scandals.

I sit on the couch in my art room with my mother who was sat quietly 'my dear. I do love you. I am hoping to get better. I have not drank so much as a drop in a week' she smiles. As if it's an accomplish
A week. How amazing.
I do not nor will I ever understand my mother. She is far far too complicated.

Daphne was out promenading with the duke, while I was sat in the Bridgerton sitting room reading while Eloise was trying to convince me to help her uncover lady whistledown, Anthony again off to beg for sienna, Colin was off buying flowers for marina and benedict was drawing on the other side of the sitting room.

Daphne was going straight from the promenade to madam Delacroix to get her wedding dress worked on. I was bored out of my mind. "Eloise. I sincerely doubt Anastasia cares if lady whistledown is a quill seller or a book maker" benedict laughs 'I am barely paying any mind to her, I will not lie.' I laugh with him. Eloise huffing at us and slumping down sitting in her diary.

I was finally with daphne after being stuck with Benedict and Eloise all day.  I had arrived with lady Danbury the both of us bumping into eachother on our way. "Now this is far too grim a mood for the celebration I was counting on.what on earth is the matter" Lady Danbury asks looking quite unpleased
'We've been denied our request for a special license." Anthony starts "the archbishop did not see a need" the duke finished. "It was clearly not the archbishop" I laugh in disbelief "you're right dear, it is the queen. Perhaps she has taken your rejection to her nephew to heart, or perhaps she is simply bored. Either way, it does not bode well for your daughter's social future" lady Danbury agrees with me
"Nor any of the bridgertons for that matter" I add on

"Surely we must be able to do something?" Lady Bridgerton asks concerned
"Give her what she wants" I shrug.
"Attention. Appear before her yourselves to make a personal appeal. But she will not respond to begging, and she can sniff out even the faintest whiff of uncertainty, so do not lay it in thick" lady Danbury educates them "tell her you are inlove. Plain and simple and true." I smile
Daphne and the duke looking rather weary but I knew they could do it.

Lady Danbury and lady Bridgerton lead us to the dinner we were now attending, I wonder what benedict was doing. "You seemed as though you knew what you were talking about there" Anthony points out "it is simple. Everyone knows the queen loves attention. And well, love, it should always be spoken of" I smile 'I suppose you are correct' Anthony agrees. Daphne merely smiling at me getting quite self conscious "what if it does not work? What if the queen sees past it all?"
I sigh "oh daphne my love, what you and the duke have cannot be seen past. It is real. You may not notice now but you are so very much inlove."

I had to go back home I could not stay another night with the Bridgertons. My mama needed help with some of the paper work. And if we are to be honest I needed to make sure she was still living.
The next morning daphne was to see the queen with Simon to ask for their license u feel as though I am more worried than her

I was stood in a baby blue gown sat beside benedict and Colin as we watched daphne walk down the aisle holding Anthony's arm, I could not help but tear up slightly as she stood tall and beautiful, she was truly marrying her bestfriend, for love, that is all her and I had hoped for. And I was more than happy she had found it, a little jealous she found it before me but happy nonetheless.

The after party was the most amazing, so many people there to congratulate them on their union, and such wonderful music (and drinks) I was stood chatting with a group of people when Anthony had grabbed my hand and excused us from them "Viscount Bridgerton" I smile with a mocking curtsy him copying my humour and bowing "Miss williams. I came to thank you- for all you have done for my family. For my sister" he nods "no need my lord, your family has been more of a family to me than my own" I giggle he shakes his head with a small smile kissing my gloved knuckle and leading me toward the drunks grabbing himself a glass and one for me "I shall depart to see how my sister is. Do not drink too much of that, it is quite strong" he warns pointing his finger at me

I- ofcourse- had ignored Anthony's words. I will admit to being slightly tipsy but I do not think I had drank hat much I was happily skipping around the room from one conversation to another when Anthony had caught me again "we are saying goodbye to daphne. Please act sober" he mutters.
As daphne hugs everyone giving each a kiss on the cheek "Anastasia. I will miss you most, I promise to write every 2 days and you must write to me" she swears 'ofcourse of course now go before I start crying again' I moan wiping fake tears and with that daphne got in the carriage and made her way to her new home. To her new life. Leaving me...to deal with it on my own.

Anthony rests his hand on my shoulder seeing my uncertain face all of us waving goodbye before turning and going back to the house "you shall be next my darling" lady Bridgerton smiles at me before walking off. "That's not nerve wracking at all" I joke benedict laughing with me. "By god I have no good suitors and your mother still expects me to marry by the end of this season" I complain
