You Killed Tomorrow
By PJ Perry
You killed tomorrow
By reviving yesterday
You brought back all the sorrow
That never went away
How can I move on?
When the past is right behind me
Tomorrows now unreachable
Yet so close to smell and see
I'm stuck here now forever
Trapped for eternity in the present
I'll move on probably never
And I'll always feel resent
The past and future might as well hold hands
Make today the absentee
There will only be two time bands
Instead of all the three
I might as well be in a cell
No chance of any bail
No chance of visitors or parole
Just rotting away in a jail
I would beg for, steal or borrow
Happiness for just one day
But how can I when you killed tomorrow
By reviving yesterday
