You leaned against the bar in an attempt to attract the attention of the bartender who had spent the past ten minutes with customers at the opposite end. All you wanted was another glass of wine, but you were starting to think that you were going to need way more. You felt a hand on your lower back and for half a second you thought that it was your boyfriend, then you realized that something was off.

You turned to look over your shoulder, more than a little annoyed by the invasion of personal space.

"Yes?" You asked, looking up into the face of an attractive, dark haired man, around the same age as you.

He shot you a kind smile in return. "I was just wondering if I could buy you a drink? You looked like you were struggling a bit over here."

You frowned slightly, examining his face, and straightened up from your position, "I don't think that's a good idea. Thank you though."

He kept his hand on your back, taking a step closer to you. "Come on, just one drink?" He persisted, "I couldn't forgive myself if I let the most beautiful girl in the room get away so easily."

You laughed, "That was horrible."

He grinned, "Did it work though?"

"Not a chance, mister." You folded your arms.

Across the bar, Stef sat, tuning out his group of friends around him. Originally, his eyes had only drifted to you every couple of minutes to see if you were still waiting for your drink. Then he noticed the guy standing a few feet away watching you and he found his eyes shifting to you every few seconds. That was until he looked over and his eyes landed on you with another man's hand placed on your back.

He was not liking what he was seeing, but he didn't get up right away. You could handle yourself. He knew that. Then you straightened up and said something to him but didn't pull away. He stepped closer to you, said something else and made you laugh. Stef took a sharp breath in, and a glare replaced his usually calm face. Before he knew what he was doing, he was up and out of his seat, striding across the bar.

You looked over your shoulder just in time to see your six foot five boyfriend arrive at your side. You couldn't help but notice how tall he was compared to the stranger. "Everything okay, babe?" He asked.

You tried to hide your smile, "Yeah, just waiting for a drink."

The man seemed too shocked by Stef's sudden arrival to remove his hand, so Stef removed it for him, pushing it off your back and replacing it with his own. "You don't need to wait," he said. "I was thinking we could head out."
