Min Yoongi.

Min Yoongi is Freaky Min's name.

He was fifteen when he moved to the neighborhood with his family, back when it lived up to the common word advertisers used to describe it.

Happy.

And that's where the story begins.

The day Yoongi's family settled into the community, many neighbors rang their doorbell all afternoon to present them with welcoming treats such as apple pie or freshly homemade meatloaf. Some neighbors were even kind enough to volunteer to help them unpack. By accepting every kind gesture they were offered, a week-long job of moving in turned out to be completed within two days. The neighborhood and everything that came with it gave Mr. and Mrs. Min a positive first impression, leaving them completely satisfied with their decision to live here.

But the real story begins the day when a pretty blonde boy wearing a flower crown and a plate of freshly baked warm chocolate chip cookies in his hand stood outside his door with his family right behind him. Yoongi's mom had taken the treats with a grateful smile as the strangers introduced themselves as their next-door neighbors. As the adults talked amongst themselves, Yoongi didn't fail to catch the pretty blonde boy shamelessly staring at him with a fond smile. And to be honest, his gaze made Yoongi shift uncomfortably, wanting nothing more than to leave to his room, but he couldn't because that would be impolite. From then, he planned to stay away from his so-called neighbor.

And oh, how the tables turned the night Yoongi decided to sneak out the back door while his parents slept peacefully in bed. Back in his old neighborhood, the city, whenever Yoongi struggled to sleep, he'd open the curtain and look up at the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars the way they were photographed in his textbooks. While his wish didn't come true in the city, he had forgotten about the textbook images because he could see the real thing here as he sat on the grass, legs crossed, back arched, and head craned back.

Stars.

Millions and billions of little white balls of fire floating in outer space made up the most beautiful painting God has ever created. While he stared in amazement at the scenery, he didn't notice the figure on the other side of the chain-link fence.

When it greeted him, it startled him, only for the voice to chuckle in return. Yoongi craned his head in surprise, eyes wide as he recognized the person under the moonlight. It was his pretty blonde neighbor.

Yoongi stayed quiet as he watched his neighbor skillfully climb over the fence with a circular item in his hand that he couldn't make out. When the kid's feet landed on Yoongi's grass and began to skip toward him, Yoongi prepared himself to shift away or run back inside the house, yet he couldn't seem to do the second option. The cheerful boy captivated him, even when he did something as simple as sit beside him, not too close to give him space, but not too far either. Under the moonlight and stars that illuminated their neighborhood, Yoongi was able to see what the boy carried: a flower crown similar to the one he was still wearing.

"Um, I made one for you," the boy shyly stated. "Here you go." He handed it to Yoongi carefully, like it was something fragile that could break with any given harsh movement yet Yoongi couldn't see himself accepting it. It was too... girly in his eyes but he didn't want to seem rude by being too blunt.

"Sorry, I can't accept it. I don't- I don't even know your name."

The blonde's mouth opens in realization, nodding as he carefully sets the accessory on the grass. "Right, my name. How rude of me to not introduce myself!" he exclaimed, taking his hand out to give Yoongi a handshake. "Hi, I'm Park Jimin and it's very nice to meet you." He smiled a toothy grin that made his eyes resemble crescents.

Park Jimin, huh?

Yoongi looks between Jimin's hand and his face, contemplating whether or not he should swallow whatever thoughts he had of the pretty boy Park Jimin and return the handshake. After contemplating with himself, in the end, he decided to give in to not embarrass the other. He took Jimin's small hand in his, giving it a firm handshake before letting go and wiping his hand on his cotton shirt. He then introduced himself.

"Min Yoongi."

Jimin carefully grabs the fragile flower crown again, Yoongi's flower crown, handing it to its new owner. "Will you accept it now that you know my name?"

Now Yoongi has no choice but to accept it, so he does reluctantly.

"Do you mind... putting it on?"

You have got to be kidding me, Jimin.

After letting out a small, barely noticeable sigh, he held the crown with his two hands, dipping his head down to slowly lower the object onto the crown of his head. He's surprised to find it fits perfectly, making a frown of confusion appear on his face. Meanwhile, Jimin broke out into a wide smile and started clapping, excitement written all over his pretty features.

"Yay! It fits! I did a great job. Good job, Jimin." He patted himself on the shoulder, the smile now a smirk before turning back at Yoongi.

Park Jimin, you are one strange child.

For the rest of the night, Jimin bombarded Yoongi with random questions, earning grunts or hums as responses from him, never actual words. Jimin didn't seem to mind it. He gave off the impression of the kind of person to talk about nothing yet everything. Someone could listen to Jimin talk all day in a literal sense because he seemed to never run out of stories.

Yoongi is not that person though.

He felt himself falling asleep to Jimin's soft, honey-like voice as he talked about how he once found 50 cents on the ground and walked to the police station to turn the money in. However, he woke himself up before he got too comfortable and passed out completely. Craning his head, Yoongi let the blonde know that he was going back inside to sleep because he was so tired.

Jimin smiled and nodded and stood up to head home, his last words of the night being, "Okay. I'll see you tomorrow, Yoongi."

Yoongi didn't let the words process in his brain as he shut the back door as slowly as he could to not alarm anyone with a loud noise. His mind felt hazy to where he had forgotten about the crown perched on his head.

It was when he threw himself on the bed that some thorns made him hiss in pain as their sharp edges dug through his scalp. Frustrated, he yanked the accessory off his head and tossed it carelessly somewhere in his room, a soft thud following. Grumbling, he pulled his bed sheets over his shoulders, getting comfortable on his new mattress until his frown faded into blissful sleep.

Not knowing he was going to dream about his new neighbor, Park Jimin.
