~ phoenix ~

The clock showed it was a few minutes past eight.

After my gym session and a very steamy shower, I'd kicked Ilya out of the top floor.

Katarina showed up with the vodka ten minutes later. My eyes sparkled when I laid my eyes on the green bottles. Seeing as she was no longer breastfeeding, even Lav squealed with excitement.

Grabbing some coco-cola and some shot glasses from the kitchen, we camped out in the lounge with pillows and blankets. Because I was banned from the club (unless Ilya was accompanying me), I made it a point to steal as much alcohol from their reserves as I possibly could. Unfortunately, there was only so much we could drink so the morning after, there'd be several bottles in the fridge that would secretly be returned to the basement. Come next week, I'd steal them again.

Who needs a club of sweaty rich people and sexy strippers when you have your girls and a movie? Checking the baby monitor was working, we settled for Mean Girls. I was shocked to hear these girls had not seen the classic high school dramas that I grew up with. If my purpose on earth was to enlighten them, then it was a duty I would gladly fulfil.

"So," someone would begin as the credits rolled in. Today, it was Rina. "Phoenix, truth or dare?"

Sighing, I picked truth. The last time I completed a dare, Ilya was not by any means pleased.

Before the blonde could fire her question, Lav beat her to it. "First time?"

"Boring!" Rina complained, though her eyes sparked with curiosity.

Bemused, I answered without hesitation. If things were going to be this easy... "I lost my virginity in the last year of high school after my boyfriend cheated on me. It was dumb and it hurt."

Wincing, I remembered the awkward shuffling between me and the drunk dude I picked up from a club.

Both their jaws fell open. I shrugged.

As I answered, they both took and vodka cola shot. I cackled as their expressions soured. It was a mission to make sure the others had the worst hangovers possible the next morning. Yeah, we were evil.

"Um, Lav! Truth or dare."

To my surprise, she opted for the latter. Damn, I didn't even have a good dare.

Thankfully, Rina cut in. "Knock knock ginger the guys!"

I raised a brow. It was a prank that apparently had not made it to Eastern Europe. After explaining the concept to her, she demanded we do it ourselves. Vik just so happened to be our first victim.

"What's that?" Lavinia questioned with a frown.

I opened my mouth to explain but Rina excitedly beat me to it. "You knock on their door and then run away!"

"Fine, but you guys have to come with me!" the former demanded

"But any of us could get caught!" I protested.

"Exactly," she smirked, turning to the blonde, "don't blame me if you get caught by Uncle Leksey."

I couldn't help but snort.

Rina's expression darkened. "Shut up."

Giggling like schoolgirls, we tiptoed down the stairs to the Aleksey's floor. As we hovered near the door, Lav hesitated.

"Do it!" I grinned.

Exhaling, the brunette complied. She raised her knuckles to knock. Then, barely containing my giggles, I dived behind a pilar. The other girls chose different hiding spots. I spied Lav near the stairs and Rina behind another pillar.

A moment later, I peeked to see the Hulk's confused face look around the empty corridor. Muttering, he slammed the door shut.

"One more time," Rina cackled, almost in hysterics, "please!"

I agreed. Seeing as Aleksey would probably not open the door the third time, I figured it would be best to make the second time more exciting.

Gesturing with my fists to the girls, I counted: three, two, one. Then, we hailed a storm of blows on the door, kicking and slapping.

Clutching my belly, I returned to my pillar, falling against it with breathless giggles. God!

Aleksey returned to the door. "Katarina, stop!" he growled and slammed the door.

Wide-eyed, Rina appeared from her spot. Cackling, me and Lav pointed at her.

I glanced back at the door. How could I not? It was irresistible.

Smirking, I raised a fist to bang again but to my horror, the door swung open and I was pulled into a hard chest.

"I told you," Ilya muttered, "it was her."

Over his shoulder, I spied Aleksey's triumphant smirk.

"Hey!" I protested. "It wasn't just-"

Before I sold them out, I broke off with a sigh. "It was a dare."

The silver-eyed devil smirked. "If you wanted to see me so badly, baby, you should have just asked. No need to make excuses."

Narrowing my eyes, I retorted, "I was actually on my way to see my favourite man."

The sly comment worked. Ilya's grip hardened around my hips.

"What favourite ma-"

Cutting his growl off, I exclaimed, "Mikhail!" when I spied the confused boy in the hallway.

Grinning, the angel ran to me, ducking under his uncle's legs, to wrap his arms around me. Shaking off Ilya's hands, I picked him up and whispered into his ear, "Did you miss me, baby?"

"Yeah!" was the excited reply. "Are we going to play, now?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Aw, baby, it's bedtime! I came to say goodnight!"

He pouted. Damn, I would miss him.

Sliding past Ilya, I let myself into Aleksey's minimalist apartment. I appraised the dark blue walls and white furniture with wide eyes. When I finally found a room with a bed, I tucked him in.

"Stay!" Mikhail whined.

I was seriously tempted.

"Please?" the boy begged.

Sighing, I agreed, climbing in behind him. I would leave when he fell asleep. Besides, those hoes deserved to wait up after letting me take the blame. I scowled, imagining them laughing in the penthouse.

Stroking his hair, I snuggled with the boy. To my surprise, it was already nine. I usually slept at ten but I guess I was extra tired today after two sessions at the gym. Ilya appeared in the doorway, studying us.

Tucked in my arms, Mikhail's breathing eventually evened and shallowed. He slept fast.

In the darkness, Ilya made his way towards us.

"Uh-uh, go sleep with Aleksey," I whispered, evilly.

I wasn't surprised when he ignored my comment and slid in behind me. His arms came around me and his thumb drew circles on the hand that was holding the boy.

I sighed closing my eyes. I wished these seven days would never end.
