Even his wife, Ruth, who is otherwise a strong, capable doctor, becomes his possession, valued solely for satiating his extreme sexual needs, and the front she provides for his madness.  As Aaron cycles through his victims, he knows that the one person he can turn to is Constance, who made a bargain long ago that continues to haunt her.  But events spiral out of control, and someone may pay the ultimate price.

This is the first novel for author Mary Ann D'Alto, who has been writing short stories and poetry since she was an art history major at Barnard College.  She has a master's degree from Columbia University and a law degree from City University of New York School of Law.  D'Alto is already working on "The Suffering Room", a sequel to "He Counts Their Tears".
