Preface: An act of rebellion by a woman who believes herself to be irrevocably in love with a man her family considers unsuitable unleashes turbulence into her life and that of her family. Through the losses she faces, Aina realizes within her a need to reclaim the love and forgiveness of the ones who should have mattered the most to her, or at least as much as her sometime romantic companion. Love is love is love, as the Bard might have stated had someone sought him out on the topic of the supposed distinction between romantic and platonic or familial love. Aina finally realized the fact that an all-consuming love her always been a part of her life, and what she chased was an idea of a romantic ideal that popular culture had fed her. With this realization and her subsequent actions, we find Aina finally gaining peace and contentment. Her journey is recounted in this narrative. Note: This is a retelling and slight re-imaginging of a story the author saw told of a show she watched on a local television channel.
