I used to think I was normal. Not ordinary, but normal. Yes, I did believe that speaking and translating over twenty different languages for a living was a normal thing to be able to do, and I still do think so.
However the use of the word normal is such an...enigma to me now.
It all started with a sweet, charming strangely simple man I knew as Steve. Others knew him as other things. Super soldier, Captain America, but I just knew him as Steve.
He helped me understand who I was.
It was hard to pinpoint the exact moment when I truly became who I was. I wasn't just good old Rachel Bennett anymore, that was for sure. I was something, someone so much more now. I'd been through struggles, a million of them, physical and mental.
It took me a moment to realize that a struggle is one's greatest strength.
Being an Avenger was one thing. Navigating life? That was so much harder.
