"What are you doing?" I asked as Cas hastily stepped towards me, stopping directly in front of me. His eyes were an anxious swirl of hesitation and desperation. My concern for him grew, but not enough to will me to break whatever spell he was under as he simply stared at me longingly. His gaze held mine for almost too long, and I was painfully reminded that I couldn't look at his intense, sky blue eyes without wanting something more. Something I hadn't felt before. "It's over, isn't it?" Can suddenly asked quietly, looking around at all the fallen bodies. I furrowed my brow, aching to know what was running through his head that was making him act so odd. "Yes, Cas. It's over now-" My sentence was cut short when Cas placed his lips on mine with such force I almost tumbled backwards. I caught myself and soon realized what was happening, my heart stopping despite my mind's best efforts to calm it down and walk away. But I ignored it. This time, my heart had beaten my head into submission. And I kissed him back, realizing that all we had to do was wait until the war was over. But it seemed like it would never end.
