Noyonika Dasgupta is the golden desi girl of the Upper West Side Desi Association. Good grades, loved by all the aunties and working part-time at the bookstore-café near her house. She has had the complete high school experience: a job, popularity, going out to parties... except for one thing. Noyonika needs a date to the Sadie Hawkins dance, the Arlington Prep's version of prom. Enter Zayne Patel-Jones. Her new coworker, newly moved from the UK. He is infuriating, flirtatious and could become even more loved by the UWSDA. He seems to have it all. But, he's still missing one person... To get back with his ex, and the One for him, Zayne has to prove to her that he can stay in a committed relationship. It seems perfect, doesn't it? Noyonika pretends to have a boyfriend and Zayne can show that he is responsible. But when lies, a scholarship and a promotion comes in between the so-called happy couple, the cookies are bound to burn and the books are bound to be sold. After all, what is it if not Mutually Assured Destruction?
