We first meet Lukher Azurah, who is The Griffin Master of his clan, the Aki-Aya clan, his father Wardeen, is the Clan Chief, and his eldest half brother Kingu- is the current Warchief and is primed to become the next Clan Chief as soon as the war is over. Warchief Kingu is very intelligent, ambitious and protective- protecting his clan and their conquered home- the last and greatest taunston fortress- Yekmeni- from githyanki invaders and would be conquerors for the last decade. It is the final battle and once Kingu vanquishes his enemies- his next goal is to make his clan an absolute sovereign nation, recognized the world over. And the best and quickest way to accomplish this- is with a moura bride from Dorierra by his side as his queen. Dorierra is the mother nation for all surface dwelling mouras who have been famed for the last thousand years to be magical beings capable of great powers and abilities. An alliance with Dorierra promises peace and commerce with the other nations with moura brides ruling alongside them which is all that Kingu desires. Our heroine- Lady Audravienne Tumay- on the other hand is a moura bride in Dorierra who is from the Sultanate Quarter who is herself, in a bind. 45 years before- three of the largest Sultanate States in the world, fell to anarchy and her great grandmothers, grandparents and parents- who at the time were only babies and toddlers, were rescued from their fallen states and brought safely back to Dorierra, where her parents grew up, fell in love and had her and her siblings along with almost countless others. However with the fall of the sultanate states, that leaves much of the quarter with no fixed destination to go, and no longer a private pool to pull from for the remaining sultanate states and thus-reclassified as 'open class' open to whoever and whatever offers may come into the country. Will she make the leap of faith and dive into the unknown that is Yekmeni- and its occupants? We shall see.
