His eyes gleam in the evening light and there is something in the air that she cannot capture, an excitement in her that makes her blood sing and her eyes water. "Beautiful." He says the word as if it is a prayer to a goddess, a murmur that is almost to himself rather than to her. As if he has seen an aspect of her that he before was unable to place. Her eyes dip, cheeks flushing, "Don't look at me like that." The directness of his gaze makes her skin tingle, it makes her hyper aware of all the parts of her she doesn't like, all the parts she is insecure about, involuntarily she sucks her stomach in and sets her shoulders back a bit to make her collarbones more prominent. His voice is smooth like brandy, "Like what?" Amelia takes a step closer, eyes raising to meet his, "Like you love me." His eyes widen a fraction, and he is momentarily speechless, a flash of fear in those eyes. His breath trembles for a beat before he sighs and smiles, almost vulnerable, "Just for tonight."
