"My friend Marie has convinced me to start writing in a diary. She says that everyone has a story to tell, and that I should start writing mine down." In 2017, my history class did a French Revolution diary project. It was pretty much exactly what it sounds like: write from the perspective of someone living through the French Revolution, mentioning specific dates and events along the way. As with all my creative writing projects, I took it very seriously and grew too attached to my characters, and Elisabeth Durand's diary is the result. I may have also taken the opportunity to project my fantasies of living in the 1700s while also having a very forward-thinking husband and living above a library. Enjoy!
