"Do you still like him?", he asked her.
"Like whom?", she asked him giving him a confused look.
"That guy in the cafe with whom you were talking", he said with a blank face.
"No, of course not. I don't like him", she said quickly.
"Aarush, he's my 'Ex'-crush. I USED TO like him but now I don't", she said putting pressure on the words 'ex' and 'used to'.
A relief spread through him when his mind registered what she just said.
"I love you Nandini, so much that I can't even imagine you being with someone else. And today seeing you with that guy, I couldn't take it", he said as he pulled her into a hug. "I'm really sorry for behaving like this", he added.
The moment she heard the first three words, her heart started beating wildly.
But she also felt angry. Suddenly she pushed him away and burst out on him loudly.
"That's right, you should be sorry. Can't you see that as much as you love me, I love you too. How could you even think that I would like someone else after spending so much time with you?", she said as she started hitting him on his chest.
"You're the most stupid, idiot and dumbest person I've ever met. You know what just go away, I don't want to talk to you. I hate you", she said and walked away towards the car.
She was about to open the car door but Aarush took her hand and pulled her to himself.
"You're such a jerk Aarush. How could you... Just go away", she tried pushing him away whereas Aarush just kept smiling at her stupidly.
He grabbed her fists in his hands and pulling her close to him with a jerk, he slammed his lips on hers, shutting her up from ranting.
The moment their lips connected, it felt like fireworks bursting around them.
