The Crimson Crown
Farin is the Crown Prince, slated to take the throne. But when his father loses his mind to the influence of a dangerously addictive and harmful drug and offers the throne to noble and peasant alike in a contest of swordplay, Farin can do nothing to stop it
Unless he enters too.
Everyone in town knows Tiryz can't hit the broadside of a barn with a sword. Everybody except his father, who is convinced Tiryz will take his place in the tournament. Tiryz is forced to go to the capital, leaving his father dying from too much use of the drug leaking into the streets of the kingdom.
When Tiryz meets Farin, his goals shift: He knows he can't win, but the prince just might. Tiryz must face his fears, and fight with a sword he can barely use to help the heir win back his crown.
But with drug lords and an unnaturally skilled fighter in the arena, the stakes rise. The crown isn't the only thing on the line.
