Looking up from my skewed viewpoint on the planet's surface the world appeared large and ominous. But it was the sneering, standoffish bypassers that tapped into something difficult to apprehend and yet morbidly familiar. What would prove to be truth in my current state of apprehension.

En l'an 2079, la planète n'est plus du tout ce qu'elle fut par le passé. La nature recouvre tout, et les voitures et les immeubles ne sont plus qu'un mauvais souvenir. Le 10 janvier, jour de son anniversaire, Meg-Anne Comoil commence à rédiger un journal dans lequel elle écrit son quotidien et décrit la société utopique dans laquelle elle vit, où les noms revêtent forcément une signification particulière et où tout semble parfait.
