On the longest night of the year, her skin begins to glow. At midnight on the winter solstice, every tattoo on her body awakens, whispering the same command into her mind: Mend what has been broken. The pinky promise she abandoned. The wolf that once saved her life. The lantern she left burning the night her mother died. And the broken compass she inked only yesterday, because lately, she feels completely lost. She has seven days. Seven days to repair what grief, guilt, and silence have shattered, or the ink will leave her forever, taking the pieces of herself they represent with it. But healing means returning to the icy lake she nearly drowned in. Forgiving the father she hasn't spoken to since the funeral. Reaching for the best friend she pushed away. And finally choosing the boy who sees her unraveling, even when she cannot explain why. Before the week ends, she will either lose herself completely... or find her way home.

Katherine Vesper does not date. In her eyes it is a waste of time and energy, her overthinking caused by a less than happy experience in the past. 'What was that?' I whispered to Cole who had gone pale. 'I don't know' he replied. 'Should we go check it out?' I asked. 'Probably just Keeling dropping a box of files or something'. 'Yeah probably' I agreed trying to reassure myself. Then another crash, this time louder followed by a bone shattering roar. Both Cole and I leapt to our feet. 'Still think it was Keeling?' I asked Cole, he gulped. All it took was one chance sighting in the car park, a high school fight and one disastrous detention for Ivy Waters and Summer Adams to be thrown into a world they had no idea existed. Not only that but they are more involved in this unknown world than they could ever imagine. A new power threatens to rise and wreak havoc and destruction on Eremay. The only ones who can stop it, could also be the ones to aid it. Ivy is the complete polar opposite of Summer as this new power rises she begins to wonder if she's really as "good" as everyone thinks she is. Summer must rise up against all odds and fight the most painful battle against her own flesh, she must leave the battle victorious or she won't leave at all, no matter the consequences.

It's Christmas in New Marais, and Zeke concocts a new story to get the girl. After taking in a homeless girl, Cole takes it upon himself to make her Christmas wish come true; to give New Marais a white Christmas. But nature has a different plan, causing the gentle snow to rage into a violent blizzard. Cole must do what he can to keep the city warm until the Winter Solstice ends.

Just vignette I wrote this weekend. I dunno, man, I just liked it so I thought I'd put it up. It's about the summer solstice kind of.

Sun, moon, and the never-ending Silver doom. It was impossible to cross the Silver Sea. Be it in, on, or under it... The sea was enchanted by a magic older than time itself.
