Nick DeAngelo and Nishi Nishamura are the teenage children of Italian and Japanese immigrants living in San Francisco just prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the entry of America into World War II. The boys develop a friendship while planning an exhibition baseball game between their Italian and Japanese neighborhood teams, but the coming war creates fear, suspicion, and hostility toward their families, communities, and ultimately their participation in the sport that makes them feel connected to the country that they call home.

Unwanted. Unloved. The story of the oppressed and forgotten. The story of those who have no voice. This is the story of the Japanese Americans. The Jews in Nazi occupied Holland - Triggers: death, imprisonment, bullying, violence, antisemitism, racism. - This is a work of historical FICTION. While these stories are based on true stories not all historical facts are perfectly accurate. No hate speech will be tolerated on this story.

Hey guys! So, I'm deciding to post my historical fiction that I wrote for my English class on here. I feel as if I did a pretty good job in writing this but I just want your opinion. Please comment below to tell me what you think. Also, here is a brief summary of the event that I chose for my historical fiction: It takes place during World War II and it is right after the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor. The Americans start to mistrust the Japanese-Americans and revoke their privileges. In the end, things become so bad for the Japanese-Americans that they are send to internment camps. My story is told from one such Japanese-American who faces this predicament. She also has to deal with her arguing parents. Also, this is written by V who is @TheDamBlueCookie. Don't worry, @airbarnabus and I will write a story together at some point.

It was an average day until she got it. The first in a series of letters that would change her life forever. At first they're just a cheat sheet for history (not really) and a private guide to her teenage love life (yes really). She grows attached to the boy from the past and wishes she was the girl in his stories. She obeys his old wishes for his girl and experiences things like they're for her. Eventually, she goes on a mission for him, thinking it will be easy, but she couldn't have been more wrong. Her quest is anything but expected, and the result couldn't be stranger. A glitch in the post office computer changes everything for dear Melissa Melbourne. It makes her go through heartbreak, friendloss, poison ivy, mental hospitals, prison, courthouses and the Department of Education just to discover the most startling thing of all: he was always there beside her.

In the opening scene the readers immediately find themselves within the cramped, steam room-like conditions of a two man Japanese midget submarine lying on the muddy bottom of Pearl Harbor as if it is an animal waiting to pounce upon an unsuspecting prey. The date is Sunday, December 7, 1941. The time is just before eight in the morning and as the reverberations from aerial torpedo and bomb explosions rock the little submarine the two men jump to their controls and the midget sub comes to life. What follows is illegal immigration, death, moral struggles, sexual subterfuge and much more. The final chapters result in confrontations and a dizzying sequence of events which tie up all the loose strings and sets the stage for the first sequel, Geographic Treachery, through the introduction of two men of questionable character. All-in-all, the readers are in for quite a ride! Last line of 4 star review by Onlinebookclub.org: "Mr. Nannini's blend of real life events, a compelling modern day mystery, and vibrant characters has resulted in a first-class novel which could easily become a lasting gem in its genre."
