Chapter 47: Ghosts’s Nightmare (1)
Chen Shu turned his head to peer at Ye Sui. Just a moment ago, he never looked at her while they were climbing up.
He moved his attention, only to find that Ye Sui’s condition was not good. She was clutching her chest, wavering, and had a pale face.
“We’ll go back.” Chen Shu was somewhat panicked. He immediately stretched out his hand to hold Ye Sui’s shoulder and let her lean against his body.
The couple descended from their current position to the ropeway station and sat on the cable car. Chen Shu helped Ye Sui take off her mask and hat; she was too dizzy to speak.
Even though Ye Sui was light-headed, she was able to stretch her finger to point at her bag. Knowing she was afraid of heights, she had prepared a medicine before climbing the mountain.
Chen Shu grabbed the medicine and the mineral water from her bag. After taking medicine, Ye Sui leaned weakly on his shoulder. Fortunately, her reaction was not too severe, just wanting to go back to have a good rest.
On the way down, the scenery of the mountains was all in a glance outside the cable car, but Chen Shu had no interest in appreciating it.
Chen Shu had no idea about Ye Sui’s physical condition. Following his wishes, he took her to climb Cangshan Mountain. To conclude, this was his own mistake that Ye Sui was in this state.
Chen Shu remembered his early years. From childhood to adulthood, people always said that he committed numerous mistakes. Therefore, when his mother left, he was so lonely that he had no friends, and even in the Chen Family, he had no one close to him.
He did not communicate with others, not wanting to cause any trouble for them.
Now, there was only one person Chen Shu wanted to be close to, and she was sick and miserable because of his mistake.
Chen Shu believed that their trip would be relaxed and pleasant, but something unexpected happened again. As many times as it was before, those who came near him would begin to stay away from him.
Chen Shu wryly thought that perhaps, as they say, he was a bad omen to people who were close to him, hurting them in return.
When the car arrived at the hotel, Ye Sui was already exhausted after constant moving around.
Chen Shu carried Ye Sui all the way back to their room. She couldn’t see the expression of Chen Shu clearly, only noticing that his heartbeat was fast, and he seemed anxious.
When they got to the room, Ye Sui rested in a half-lying position on the bed, and Chen Shu fed her warm water before she slept.
Somehow, before going to bed, Ye Sui suddenly thought of Chen Shu’s question awhile ago. ‘Do you want to go hiking with me again?’
“Chen Shu.” Ye Sui’s consciousness was somewhat fuzzy, and her voice as small as a mosquito’s when speaking his name.
Chen Shu answered earnestly, “Hm.”
“It was fun to climb the mountain with you.” When Ye Sui finished speaking, her eyelids gradually sank, and she soon went to sleep.
Chen Shu’s eyes blinked in surprise. In the quiet room, Ye Sui’s words appeared unusually clear.
He would not remember others’ words, would ignore them, and would not take their feelings into consideration.
But, Ye Sui’s tiny voice came in through the air along Chen Shu’s ear, then rushed to his heart, blooming brilliant flowers like a spring breeze.
He once again realized the feeling of being nervous and caring for someone.
Chen Shu bowed his head, lowered his eyes, and looked at Ye Sui. Her breathing was steady, and she was in the uncomfortable state she had been in before.
As the sunlight fell into the room, a layer of radiant light illuminated her face. Her facial features were delicate, and her soft lips too enticing.
Chen Shu went towards the window and closed the curtains carefully, for fear of waking her.
The room suddenly darkened. Chen Shu went back to sit beside Ye Sui’s bed, staring at her closed eyes, not knowing what he was thinking.

The room suddenly darkened. Chen Shu went back to sit beside Ye Sui’s bed, staring at her closed eyes, not knowing what he was thinking.
After sleeping for about an hour or two, Ye Sui woke up. Her eyelashes trembling, she opened her eyes and gently glanced at Chen Shu, who was seemingly looking elsewhere. After a while, Chen Shu’s gaze again moved to her as four eyes locked onto each other.
Ye Sui no longer felt discomfort. She quietly lay in bed, obviously much better. Seeing her like this, Chen Shu breathed a sigh of relief. “Feeling alright?”
Ye Sui nodded. “A little thirsty.”
Chen Shu quickly stood up, took a cup of warm water, and came over, frowning. The cup was in Chen Shu’s hand as he held it to Ye Sui’s mouth, his slender fingers gliding along the edges. Ye Sui was holding Chen Shu’s hand as she took a mouthful.
After drinking a glass of water, Ye Sui looked up and saw Chen Shu’s constant frown. “Chen Shu.”
Chen Shu asked with great concern, “Are you uncomfortable somewhere else?”
Ye Sui shook her head. “I am much better now. Anyway, why are you frowning?”
Chen Shu raised his hand and touched his forehead. Even he did not know that he was unconsciously frowning. Ye Sui’s every move always affected his mood.
Chen Shu said nothing, looked at the empty cup and stood up again to pour water for her.
Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu trotting out of the room, but the very next second, when she sobered up, she noticed something amiss.
When she was home, with Chen Shu by her side, the ghosts did not dare to come close. Hence, the house was clean, and there was nothing to be afraid of.
Now that they had changed places, that is to say, a new batch of ghosts would have appeared before Ye Sui could adapt to them. She slowly pulled up her quilt and covered half of her face.
When Chen Shu was still there just now, those ghosts would not be presumptuous. They were scared to hide in the corner of the room and did not dare approach.
One was hiding at the edge of the curtain, one was hiding behind the TV, and another was hiding in the innermost corner of the room.
“The man finally left, which terrified my little heart nonstop.” The ghost on the curtain came out from the side and palpably patted his chest, as if his heart was still beating faster.
The TV ghost also emerged from behind the TV. She stretched out her leg and said, “My legs are numb.”
“Warning, warning, the man is back. Hide.” Soon after the TV ghost appeared, Chen Shu’s footsteps were heard. As soon as this was said, the ghosts went to their own hiding places and quickly returned to their original positions.
Ye Sui’s eyes dared not glance at random, just listening to Chen Shu’s reassuring footsteps. If she confessed to Chen Shu that she could see ghosts now, would he accept it?
When Chen Shu came in, he saw Ye Sui shivering in the quilt. He immediately thought of his own conjecture that she might truly see ghosts. His face sank; she was still so uncomfortable. Were those ghosts so blind?
Those ghosts did not know that they had already offended Chen Shu, and it was imprinted in his mind.
While drinking the water that Chen Shu brought to her, Ye Sui was thinking about how to find words to tell him about the ghosts.
“Chen Shu.” Ye Sui paused for a few seconds. “Do you really think there are no ghosts in this world? “
Chen Shu did not answer immediately, unlike the previous times where he would instantly give a negative answer to Ye Sui. He did not give a reply but asked a question instead.
“Now, is there a ghost in this room we’re in?”
Ye Sui hesitated for a moment and decided to tell Chen Shu the fact that she could see ghosts. She held out her trembling finger and pointed to the ghost beside the curtain.
When the curtain ghost saw Ye Sui’s finger pointing at him, he was ready to frighten her. After all, there were still a few people who could see ghosts.
“Is that so?” The said ghost poked out from behind the curtain and made a strange and horrible gesture, slowly coming towards Ye Sui’s side.
“Then I’ll let you see the real appearance of ghosts, hehehe.”

Although Chen Shu was sitting beside Ye Sui’s bed, the curtain ghost had met this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and decided to bypass him and frighten Ye Sui.
Chen Shu looked at the curtains, which were now closed. He frowned and walked to its edge.
Because of the curtain ghost’s pretense, it walked slowly. But when Chen Shu came to its side in two or three strides, it was so frightened that he leaned back and fell to the ground.
It was the curtain ghost’s first time coming into contact with a person with such abundant yang energy. It was shaking like a leaf, crawling back and forth, as if it had met its nemesis. At this moment, the curtain ghost forgot its identity as a ghost and was scared to death by a human being.
The next second, Chen Shu pulled open the curtain. And with a whoosh, bright sunshine poured down from the outside of the window, directly shining on the curtain ghost.
The curtain ghost screamed, completely ignoring its image, and went to the corner to hide. “Mom, there are bad people here. My ass is burned.”
However, Chen Shu, who accidentally forced a ghost to cry, was not aware of it. He scanned the window sill and said, “Is it here? Is the ghost here?”
Ye Sui almost choked and glanced at the curtain ghost hiding in the corner with a straight face. She didn’t know what to say.

Chen Shu pulled the curtain back again, isolating the sun from the outside. However, the curtain ghost did not dare to relax at all. Its body and the wall were tightly glued to each other, and there was no gap between them, just like embedding itself in.
The TV ghost saw its partner being tortured so much and decided to stake everything on one throw and continue the great cause that the curtain ghost could not finish just now.
The TV ghost comforted the curtain ghost, “Don’t be afraid. I have watched many horror movies and learned a lot of scary moves.”
The TV ghost put both hands on the edge of the TV set, revealing its long black hair first, hanging from the TV all the way to the carpet.
It slowed down and then crawled out slowly.
Ye Sui’s eyes were naturally attracted by the TV ghost’s series of actions. Her face changed suddenly, and Chen Shu immediately noticed it.
“Is there a ghost on TV set there?”
Chen Shu went to the spot where the TV was. The TV ghost did not scare Ye Sui but headed towards Chen Shu.
The TV ghost’s hand was propped up on the ground. Half of its body was stuck in the TV set, but it was interrupted midway. Luckily, it had stepped on the brake in time and prepared to retreat in panic.
It had indeed learned a lot of action through horror movies, but they did not teach it how to act after failure. Chen Shu had gone to the front of the TV, his feet accurately stepping on the long hair of the ghost.
This sharp weapon (hair) had become a thing that dragged ghosts so stiffly. The TV ghost retreated several times but failed to escape Chen Shu’s feet.
“Mom, I want to go home, and I’ll have my hair cut tomorrow.” The TV ghost pulled her long hair back.
Chen Shu looked at the TV set several times. However, just like before, the screen was clean and the floor neat, so how could be a ghost?
Coincidentally, during this period, Chen Shu’s feet did not move from the long hair of the TV ghost. Who let the TV ghost spread its long hair all over the floor just to pursue its goal?
Chen Shu looked to have completely petrified Ye Sui. He doubtfully asked.
“Is there a ghost here?”
There’s one under your feet. Could you please lift your feet first?
