Coworker update!! She was talking to this guy we work with (think they're dating but don't really know) and it made me SO angry. This whole week SUCKED but that?
I understand I don't have a chance with this girl. I know that. But I wanted to go back there after I was done for the day and run him over. Annoying little shit.
Until I get a new job (which is impossible more places are starting to close around me) I'm gonna have to put up with this toxic environment and see HER.
Anyway, enjoy this update!
June 2017
Leila's POV:
I watched Mariona talk with Patri.
"What are you thinking?" Alexia sat next to me.
"If you're here to lecture me again, I don't want to hear it."
"I'm just here to see my friends." She said. "No matter how stupid they are."
I shook my head. "When it comes to my relationships, mind your own business. I don't get involved with you and Jenni. Don't get involved with me and Mariona."
"Me and Jenni?" She smirked. "There's nothing for you to get involved in. As for you and Mariona." She stood up. "If you hurt Mariona in any way," She leaned towards me. "there is nowhere on this planet you can hide from me." She patted my shoulders and stood up straight. "Good talk, Leila." She walked away.
Mariona came over and sat next to me. "What was that about?"
"Just Alexia reminding me that her and Jenni aren't a thing." I said. "The usual." Mariona laughed. "What did you and Patri talk about?"
"You."
"What about me?"
"How insane you are."
I laughed. "Yet Patri is still my best friend and you haven't broken up with me yet."
"Guess I just really love that part of you." She said. I looked at her. "I said it."
"And did you mean it?"
"I mean everything I say about you, Leila."
Tatiana's POV:
"I still don't get why you and Cassandra broke up." My roommate, Jade shook her head. "She was hot, and into your stupid ass."
"She's not Leila. I know that ship has sailed. It's not coming back for a while if it ever comes back." I sighed. "But Leila was the first person to see ME. She brought me back and reminded me I was more than just a puppet. She made me want more for myself. I'm happy she's happy. I just wish she was happy because of me." I shrugged. "And I want to hate that Mariona girl, but she's adorable and I hate myself instead." I looked down.
"Yeah, I wanna pinch her cheeks." She kicked a rock. "So what are you going to do, Tati?"
"Bury myself in my work? I'm shooting my first feature film in a few months, starting my 3rd year at Harvard and have the option to graduate early." I said. "Those are more than enough distractions from," I looked down at my phone. "Leila fucking Ouahabi." I looked up.
"What?" Jade took my phone. "You still follow her on Instagram? Why would you do that to yourself?" She stared at the picture. "She is attractive though. I see why you're struggling."
I took my phone back. "Unfollowing her would mean it's real. We're not friends anymore and Leila's gone from my life. I want to hold on as long as I can. I know she's not coming back. But a small part of me hopes that she does."
July 2017
Leila's POV:
Our first match against Portugal was a success. We beat our neighbors 2-0. Now our focus shifted to England.
"I think we'll win." Mapi sat next to me. "It's only England right?"
I looked at her. "You're confident."
"With a face like that?" Virginia looked. "You sure that's how you want to live your life, Leon?"
"I'm confident about our next game and you want to call me ugly?" Mapi looked at me then Virginia. "Pick better fights, Torrecilla."
Virginia laughed. "How's Tatiana?" She looked at me. "Been a while since we've talked."
"Who's Tatiana?" Mapi asked.
"No one." I glared at Vir. "She was a friend."
"Was? Did I miss something?"
"I'm with Mariona." I looked at my phone.
"And that means you can't have friends?"
"I'm not talking about this." I got up.
Our game against England didn't go as well as Mapi thought.
We lost 2-0. And Portugal won 2-1.
We needed to win our final game against Scotland. And hoped England could get the job done against Portugal.
Tatiana's POV:
"What are you watching?" I sat next to my dad.
"The Euros." He said.
"Who's playing?"
"Scotland and Spain are about to start."
"I'm leaving." I started to get up.
"No." He grabbed my arm. "You're staying."
"Spain's Leila Ouahabi starting her 3rd match of the tournament. Debuted for the team last year, scored her first international goal in February of this year." They showed Leila. "Can Barcelona's left-back lead Spain to European glory."
I looked down.
"We haven't talked about that." My dad said.
"There's nothing to talk about."
"Tati." He said. "It's just me and you here. You don't need to be defensive. Be honest. It's me. You don't need to hide from me. You don't have to put those walls up around me."
I sighed. "She has a girlfriend. And it was fine, I guess. We still talked. But then I got busy shooting that short film, our schedules never lined up. I'd be done filming for the day, but she'd have practice. I'd be asleep, she'd have a day off. It never worked out. But she still had a girlfriend. I went back to Harvard and finally gave that girl across the hall a chance. She was amazing."
"But?"
"But she wasn't Leila. So I ended things. It wasn't fair to her. I can't be with someone else because all I'll think is how much they aren't Leila. I've tried, dad. When I went to Spain for that scouting trip, I was going to tell her. But then she drags me to meet her friends. Ok fine, I'll tell her later. But then here comes Mariona. I wasn't going to wait, but I didn't have a choice. Now she's gone. I don't even have her in my life as a friend anymore, dad."
"Have you tried to talk to her? About any of this?"
"Last time we talked when my birthday. And she was mad at me for having a girlfriend. Like she doesn't have one. Like she didn't throw Mariona in my face the second she had the chance." I stood up. "I want to hate Leila. I want to hate Mariona. But I can't. Mariona looks like the sweetest girl you could ever meet. I want to yell at her for ruining any chance I had with Leila, but instead, I want to thank her for keeping that smile on Leila's face. It's a beautiful smile, dad. She needs to keep smiling it's what keeps this world spinning." I paced around the room. "And I can't hate Leila because," I stopped and sighed. "I just can't."
"Why?" My dad said.
"Because I can't hate her."
"Why not? You're so mad at her. Why can't you hate her?" He asked.
"Because I love her!" I turned to him. He stared at me with a small smile. "Because I love her." I repeated softly. "I can't hate her because I love her and that makes me hate myself because the opportunity is gone."
Will Leila and Tatiana get a chance to work out these feelings?
How long will it take?
Find out later!
