This year we get to do work studies, but they would first be testing on us on how well our abilities were. Our teacher was miss Yamaka. Her quirk was healing, she would have to place her hand on us in order for it to work. She was also incredibly strong and we all learned quickly not to underestimate her, as she was also able to use her healing quirk to expand her cells making it to where her arm can grow quick and beat the hell out of someone.
Before the year ended in our first year she had us take the provisional licenses exam. We were all successful in completing that goal. The most notable ones were Mirio, Nejire, Tamaki, and myself. Right now she was handing out a paperwork about work studies.
"As most of you know, second years and third years of the hero's course get to do work studies. I should let all of you know that this would be work outside of school. So try not to let your work studies get in the way of your actual school work. But if there are some days where your work studies are more important than school, you are welcome to leave, just let me know in advance."
She handed out a packet explaining work studies and how we needed a parent's permission, and a person to work under for the work studies.
"Hado, Amajiki, Aizawa, Togata, and Shina. You 5 have some people who requested that you work under them. I'll be handing those to you guys after class."
The five of us nodded our heads. As she started to leave. Present mic walked into the class to teach us English. And Social Studies. Mic is a good teacher, don't get me wrong. It's just that since there were only 10 of us it was kinda hard to answer questions and not have others outshine. I think we all avoided doing that, didn't want to seem like the smartest person in the room. But today, It seemed as if he was struggling to have us talk so I thought of something to help in teaching.
"How about in each answer we get right, you award us with candy?"
He nods is head and agrees to bring candy next time. The five of us that were called got our papers of request of companies wanting us to do our work studies with them. We then were dismissed for Lunch. Me and Nejire make our way to the lunchroom while the boys grab a table outside for us.
"Nejire! How did your beauty pageant go this weekend?"
She started to get excited.
"Oh my gosh! I did so well! I'll send you the trophies I got when I get home. Speaking of weekends.. how did your guy's extra training go with Aizawa-sensei."
I tense up at the thought of the gruesome training we did this time around. I threw up a few times in hand to hand combat training. It was horrible.
"He was so brutal this time around. He's making us wear these weights to try and make us faster and stronger."
I roll up my sleeve and show her the weight, I also rolled down my sock to show her my ankle weights as well. She giggles at my pain and we got food. We quickly find the boys outside and we start discussing where we might take our work studies at.
"I got a request from sir night eye!"
Mirio blurted out, he was super excited to have Sir be his mentor last time during our internship, but for him to request Mirio in work studies! I had water in my mouth and I quickly spat it out. It went all over Tamaki, as today he was sitting across from me. I could see him frown in disgust at me. I gave an apologetic look, quickly as I yelled,
"THE SIR NIGHTEYE? AS IN ALL MIGHT'S LAST PARTNER?"
He just nods his head, but he was basically jumping in his seat. I then took the napkin I had and helped wipe down the water that was all over Tamaki. I smile at Mirio and he points to me to drink more water. He knew that my quirk required me to drink more water. It doesn't help that I spat out a lot either in pure excitement, I was about to take another sip when Tamaki placed his hand on mine to prevent me from drinking more water until he announced his news. His eyes were widen, not wanting to be soaked with water completely.
"I think.. I might go with Fatgum. He seemed like an okay guy when I did my internship with him.. plus he knows his food."
Mirio patted Tamaki's back, letting him know that we supported his choice. I turned to Nejire to see if she made a choice. Tamaki retracts his hand from mine and allowed me to drink my water. I was taking big gulps of water as Nejire talks.
"I'm thinking of going with Ryukyu, I also worked for her company in our internships."
I nod my head. I had yet to look through mine because I tend to discuss these types of things with Papa. I saw Mirio take my form and his eyes widened.
"Whoa! You got a request from Hawks?! He's like in the number 3 hero spot!"
I grab my form from him to see that he wasn't kidding. Rustling papers could be heard as I grab the form back. My mouth was widen open and Nejire took this chance to close it softly,
"A lady should not have her mouth that wide open."
I pat her hand softly, a way of me smacking it but lightly. I just glare at her and she just smiles like she did nothing wrong.
"I didn't even do my internship with him, I wonder what caught his interest.."
I question thinking out loud. Tamaki then tilts his head and comes up with a possibility,
"Maybe he's just now getting around to seeing what you're made of? Your flying skills are pretty good when you put your mind to it.."
I smile at Tamaki, I then give him a hug for the compliment. He blushes slightly. We continued eating our food, once we were done we placed whatever trash was there into a trash can and talked for a bit. The bell rung and we headed back to class.
~Time skip~
"Papa!"
I scream out as I enter the house. Today was one of the days where he got home earlier than I did. It wasn't usually like this since he was a teacher and a pro hero at the same time.
"Hey, I got a packet for my work studies.. Hawks Agency is requesting me along with one other.."
I say as I place the packet in front of him. Knowing that he's seen it before, he quickly skims through to see if anything new was added. He then saw that Hawks requested me.
"Interesting.. if he wanted you, he would've done so last year. I guess he was busy with something. He's also like what? 20, he's pretty young."
Me and papa then go into a deep discussion about if I should do work studies or not. We discussed grades and plans for if and when I'm needed to go out.
"Wait, why didn't you request for me to be your side kick?"
"Does it look like I take on sidekicks? Besides. If the time comes if you're needed, I'm able to bring you. Hawks actually talked to me about this too. He told me that if a situation is called where students are needed to help, he said that his agency will allow you to work with me. This hasn't happened, but there is always some type of danger in the world."
I nod my head, I then go into the kitchen and start to make dinner for us, as it was my turn to make dinner. I cook us up some dinner, and Aunt Nemuri and Uncle Hizashi came over.
"Don't you two have your own houses to eat dinner at?"
I heard papa say as he lets them in. They're lucky I planned ahead and made food for four. I just finished and started to take plates out. I served the food and gave Uncle Hizashi his plate before handing it to Aunt Nemuri.
"What show is on tonight?"
I questioned as I went back into the kitchen and grabbed Papa's plate. Handing it to him, as I sat down.
"What! We can't just come over to eat a family dinner?"
I looked at Uncle Hizashi with a certain look and they all started laughing,
"We all know you two don't come over unless you guys are gonna get papa to watch a show with you two. Otherwise you'll announce your arrival."
"Shit she's got a point."
I heard Aunt Nemuri say as we all said thanks for the food that was given to us. Then we all started eating and the main topic was who I was choosing for work studies. I swallowed my food before answering,
"The Speed Hero, Hawks."
I say simply, Aunt Nemuri gasped and congratulated me on being able to get the #3 as my mentor. Uncle Hizashi was shocked but I could tell he was proud more than anything. Papa was especially proud when I announced where I was going, but I knew that all of them were of course naturally worried. They're heroes after all, they've fought and seen what's out there
