Here We Go Again!
The flowers glistened on Lou's tombstone
The dawn was beginning to fade
The sleepy town began to wake
It was peaceful under the Willow's shade.
"You don't have to worry about the girls
Petra has taken over their care
They can live and work as they please
They no longer need to who...."
"Your Black Diamonds have come through
Their lives are decent and honest
They are free as can be
I've checked on them and kept my promise."
"I could use an expert informer right now
But more than that a loopy friend
I miss you and hope that ... I was at least
A friend to you at the end."
A few silent teardrops fell
Followed by awkward silence
"I can't sit around doing nothing
I have to find out why ... and what he's hiding."

A familiar voice growled from behind
Quietly stepping out from the shadow.
I grabbed the knife from my boot
Hiding it as I stood
His colt clicked loudly
Ready to blow me away for good.
I threw the knife as I turned
But he jumped aside
It only grazed his shoulder
"Grab her" Ewell cried.
Someone grabbed my wrist
A sweet smell punched my nose
I tried to kick back but with no luck
So I stamped his toe.
I elbowed the man behind
He landed on soggy muffins
my head hit the grass
my ears were buzzing.
"Quick! Dump her in the trunk
And load it on the wagon
I'll sit in the back hidden with it
And make sure it's tightly fastened."
Stamping, grumbling and a few thuds
That's the last sound I heard
Cramped into a trunk
No one knows I've disappeared.
