"i'm keeping your sweatshirt i hope you brought another" she stood up and stretched slowly, before giving tommy time to complain she kissed his head and walked off into the kitchen to see the boys waiting eagerly with a box of kraft mac and cheese
"you guys really can't make this on your own? you literally boil water" she took the box from nick's hands and started to boil some water in the microwave
"how mad would you be if i threw something at you right now" grayson called out as he grabbed something from the ground and held it behind his back
"BITCH I'M DEALING WITH BOILING WATER" y/n was holding the water and watched grayson carefully. his eyes narrowed and as soon as she poured the water he threw it only for nick to jump and catch it.
y/n turned suddenly and ran after grayson trying to push him down on the couch. tommy had come out of the room and was laughing while cheering her on.
still trying to catch up to him she looked to george "grayson isn't getting any do you want his"
he nodded smiling and watched the two, grayson suddenly turned around throwing her on the couch. she fell back and kicked her leg out in a useless attempt
"sorry n/n" he teased but still basically hid behind toby
"can we kick gray out" she sat up quickly and looked to everyone in the room
"only if y/n wants" tommy shrugged
"yeah why not" toby laughed
"ok kiddies" nick grinned
george didn't answer he was only pushing him to the door, grayson ran from his hold and fell back on the couch next to y/n. he punched her arm playfully "so rude and for what" he pouted
she only rolled her eyes and moved so that her back was leaning against him as she started to beg tommy to finish the mac and cheese instead.
after 2 minutes of asking he finally agreed, about 10 minutes later he set it out on the table for everyone and y/n took a seat next to tommy. she was mostly talking to george but the edge of her lips turned into a smile as she felt his hand resting on her thigh
"i saw an arcade coming in can we go please" nick looked up and started rambling on about it like a child.
the group agreed and after a few got changed they soon got in the car. sapnap was driving with george next to him.
then toby and grayson in the second row and tommy and y/n in the back
"WHY DO WE HAVE TO BE IN THE BACK" tommy was loud from the start and y/n rolled her eyes
"shut up child" grayson teased
"YOU'RE THE SAME AGE AS US" he continued shouting not realizing the girl had fallen asleep on his shoulder "oh" he suddenly got quiet
toby was already laughing at the interaction causing everyone else to as well, it was a wonder how she didn't wake up
y/n woke up 30 minutes later to find that he had moved her head to his lap so she'd be more comfortable. he was playing with her hair while singing hamilton with the rest. she tapped his chest to let him know she was awake but went on her phone not wanting to move.

of course she's said i love you before, of course he'd held her before, they'd done it all before, but still everytime she said it, his face flushed red and he was filled with happiness. he rested his hand on her cheek brushing any stray hairs away so that he could see her eyes. y/ec was just a color before y/n. now it was his whole world. thank god they lived so close, he couldn't handle not seeing her for too long. the car was loud so he felt better knowing nobody would hear "y/n" he looked down
she turned her phone off and looked right back "what's up"
he felt wrong for even thinking it, but he needed to know "you don't like grayson do you?" he whispered at this point
he couldn't read her expression, her hand rested on his own and she shook her head. she showed him her phone background and it was the picture that toby took of them kissing. "he's one of my closest friends, but you're my bestfriend, and my boyfriend, and so much more" her voice was gentle
"i'm still here because of you"
relief washed through him. he checked the time once more and was unbelievably excited that they still had 30 minutes to go.
"ok love" his thumb rubbed small circles

they'd been at the arcade for about a hour now. there was a farm simulator like machine that toby instantly ran to followed by tommy. y/n was surprisingly competitive with grayson and they ran around trying every game. nick and george watched most of the time but every now and then would step in.
overwhelmed by the lights and noises she went into the bathroom and stood at the sink staring at herself in the mirror. they were supposed to see clay tomorrow, she should be happy. she'd known clay the longest of them all and he was like family. she wanted to smile with the rest, but her phone constantly dinged, new messages drowning her. she felt trapped. she couldn't breathe.
she opened the door and stepped out, there was a nearby bench so she sat down. her legs were shaking violently as she held her wrist, willing herself to calm down. tommy soon found her, how did he always know.
wordlessly he sat next to her and opened his arms. he tightened his grip on her back as she cried against his shoulder.
his voice managed to help her one way or another, and he was aware. "i've got you" he whispered.
y/n was still shaking but her tears had dried. either she was done crying or she physically couldn't anymore. either made sense. she sat up slightly and he handed her a small bag with tissue paper. pushing it to the side she pulled out a small otter stuffed animal
"i was going to give it to you later but oops" he smiled warmly
she took it in her hands and held it against herself before moving to her original position with her face covered

y/n tensed feeling the notification. she checked and to no surprise it was the same as before. tommy took the phone from her hands and put it in his pocket without even checking
"do you know how beautiful you are" he mumbled "your y/ec eyes practically glow. the way your hair falls over your shoulders. your hands are gentle and your voice is soft. your extremely considerate and somehow funny"
"tommy don't be sexist" a smile slowly spread as he talked. he laughed softly and tapped her shoulder "your willing to call out anyone. you have this weird thing about you that draws everyone in" he was looking to her, waiting for her to do the same
"you're cool i guess" she bit her lip and met his gaze.
"ok" he rolled his eyes
"thank you" she whispered and turned her head
his index finger rested on her chin pulling her back, his thumb rubbed against her jaw softly and he only looked for a moment "can i kiss you"
"you never have to ask with me" she closed her eyes as he leaned forward and they sat for a moment
...
by now they were back in the car. grayson and tommy were in the back, with y/n and toby in the middle and the two 'adults in the front'.
"still think it's unfair that sewer alligator gets to sit up front, i can drive you know" y/n rolled her eyes
"since when could you drive" he turned to look at her and cocked his head slightly
"i am lichrally the best driver ask toby" her eyes were wide and she looked to the brown-haired boy for approval only to see him shaking his head
"remember when we went to the beach" he offered
the realization dawned on her and she tried to cover his mouth quickly only for him to move just out of reach
"your dad was so pissed about the car" he finished and tommy was laughing loudly again
"Y/N" nick shouted before breaking into a fit of laughter and toby recounted the story in all
"i hate all of you" she shook her head as everyone began to tease her
