LISA

The next morning, I woke up with a throbbing pain in my head. My head is probably aching because I couldn't stop crying after my argument with Jennie last night. I'm well aware that this is entirely my fault. I kept pushing her to speak to her mother last night, ignoring her feelings.

I sighed as I looked at the empty side of our bed. 'I'm already missing her.'

Tears are forming again in my eyes, but I quickly wipe them away. I shouldn't be acting like this. I need to talk to her, admit my mistakes, and ask for her forgiveness.

After a few minutes, I fixed myself. I went directly to the guest room. It's the weekend, and I know she usually oversleeps on these days. I'm about to knock on the door when a cleaning lady walks out of the room.

"Good morning, Sajangnim." She said, bowing. I looked at her, puzzled, then I look inside the room.

"Is she inside?" I asked.

"Who, Sajangnim?" She asked.

"Is my wife in the bathroom?" I asked, but she shook her head.

"Madam left an hour ago, she told me to tell you that she's in the office, Sajangnim." She said, smiling.

"Thank you." I said before returning to our room. I sat on the bed and messed up my hair. "Gosh! Jennie never works on weekends. I'm doomed. She's really mad at me." I said to myself.

'Should I call her? But she might get upset more. Perhaps she needs more time to calm down, but what if she decides to leave me?' I was debating whether or not to call her when I decided to call Jisoo unnie instead.

Jisoo unnie answered after a few rings.

"What the hell Lalisa, it's the weekend. Why are you calling so early?" She grumbled. "If it's about the bar opening tonight, my baby and I will be there. See you later, Lisa-" She was still speaking when I cut her off.

"It's not about that, Unnie. Please listen to me first. Can you check on Jennie right now? Can you call her for me, but don't tell her I made you call her?" I plead.

"What are you talking about? Is she not with you? Where is she? Why do I have to call her? You're the wife, and I'm just the cousin, duh." She questioned me.

"She left early this morning to go to her office." I told her, sadly.

"Office? Jendeukie never works on weekends. Are you two fighting? What the hell did you do Lalisa?" Her tone pitch of voice is quite high now .

"She's mad at me, unnie. She didn't even sleep beside me last night." I sighed.

"What did you do to her? You probably did something horrible to her. Did she catch you flirting with other girls? Did you cheat on her?" She enragedly demanded now.

"O-of course not, unnie. You know I would never do that to her. I love her so much. I-it's because of her mother." I said weakly.

"What happened?" Her tone has softened, but she is more serious now. "Tell me everything, Lisa." She said, and I told her everything that happened yesterday.

"...I know it's all my fault, unnie. I'm being inconsiderate with her feelings. Gosh, she probably hates me now." My voice is now broken as I try to suppress my tears.

"Lisa, don't think that way. We all know how much she loves you, she's just hurting right now, just give her some time. That cousin of mine is quite stubborn when it comes to listening, which is why it will take some time before she listens to my auntie. When she knows the truth, her heart will be soft again to her mother, and I hope that she will forgive her at that time." She said to me.

"You're right, unnie, but what if it takes her that long to forgive me as well?" I said sadly.

"I don't think it will take that long, Lalisa. Don't worry too much, we all know she can't resist you. Maybe tonight the two of you will make up, and you know what will happen after that." She chuckled. "Don't be so down. I'll call her and try to invite her to lunch so she won't be suspicious that you asked about her whereabouts." She said.

"Thank you so much, unnie. You're the best. Seriously, I am so grateful that you and Rosie are in our lives. I love both of you so much. Please take care of Jennie while I'm not by her side." I told her with a smile on my face.

"Why are you saying those words Lalisa? It will be for hours only because Jennie can't resist you the moment she sees you again." She chuckled. "By the way, what are you doing today?" She asked.

"I'll probably sleep all day." I said.

"How about the opening tonight?" She asked.

"The original plan was, Jennie and I will go together, but I don't think she'll go tonight, so I'm probably not going as well." I said, slumping on the bed.

"Lalisa, Seulgi will disown you." She said, making me laugh.

"Yeah, you're right. They moved the opening just for me, but what about Jennie? What if she gets even angrier if I come?" I asked.

"I'll try to talk to her about it. Rosé and I are going, so maybe we can persuade her to come with us. If not, just go for a couple of hours for our friends. Jennie will understand. Just don't get drunk when you get back home." She told me.

"Okay, unnie, thank you again. You're my lifesaver." I said, and she laughed.

"Stop being downhearted, Lalisa. Everything will be fine soon. I'll call you after lunch." She said as she hung up the phone.

3ʳᵈ POV

Jennie is now searching for her beloved cousin inside the Korean restaurant where they have decided to dine. She can't believe her cousin asked her first where she wanted to eat, and then agreed without hesitation when she chose the restaurant near their company building.

She was still searching for her unnie when she heard Jisoo's voice, then she turned to see her cousin waving at her.

"Jendeukie here!" Jisoo called her name, smiling, and Jennie reciprocated it with her gummy smile. The feline-eyed girl approached her and kissed her unnie on the cheek before sitting on the chair, then she removed her sunglasses. Jisoo immediately noticed her eyes. "What happened to your eyes? Why are they puffy?" Jisoo asked, even though she already knew the answer.

"Nothing, unnie." Jennie said, quickly changing the subject. "Is Rosé in the comfort room?" Jennie asked. Jisoo shook her head then handed her the menu.

"Unexpected family day. Her brother and his family just returned to Korea this morning for their sister's wedding. Her mom insisted on all of them having lunch at home because she will cook." Jisoo said as she looked over the menu.

"But why are you here? Did she not invite you? I thought you were already okay with them." Jennie asked.

"Of course she invited me, but I already promised a lunch date with my favorite cousin." Jisoo said, winking at her.

"But it's fine with me if you cancel our lunch and go with them." Jennie said with her brow furrowed.

"It's okay, Jendeukie. I miss the food here." Jisoo said, returning her gaze to the menu.

"But you said last time we ate here that you're already sick to the taste of their foods. Why did you suddenly agree to eating lunch here with me? I'm smelling something fishy, unnie." Jennie said, looking at her cousin intently. Jisoo gulped, but her gaze was fixed on the menu.

"Shush. The staff might hear you, Jendeukie. Just pick whatever you want to eat." Jisoo said and huffed.

"Did Lisa ask you to accompany me today?" Jennie asked, widening Jisoo's eyes.

"What are you saying, Jendeukie? I have no idea that the two of you were fighting." Jisoo said, looking away.

"Bingo! You're busted, unnie! I didn't tell you!" Jennie exclaimed, glaring at her cousin.

"Stop glaring at me, Jendeukie, or I'll pluck those feline eyes of yours." Jisoo said, glaring as well. "Fine, fine. Gosh, this tongue, why does it always slip. Lisa called me this morning, but she didn't directly ask me to accompany you. I do it on my own, so don't be mad at her." She sighed.

"I don't want to talk about what happened, unnie. Perhaps, she already told you everything. I'm still mad at her." Jennie stated sternly.

"Let's eat first, but still we need to talk." Jisoo added sternly.

"But unnie-" Jennie begins to protest, but Jisoo interrupts her.

"No buts, Jendeukie." Jisoo said.

Later on.

Jisoo decided to drive Jennie to their company building after their lunch. Jennie insisted on bringing her car, and her bodyguards were already waiting for her outside, but Jisoo is persistent, telling her cousin that her security can simply drive her car and follow them because she needs to speak privately with her cousin.

Jennie is about to exit the car when Jisoo suddenly locks all the doors, preventing her cousin from exiting.

"Not so fast, Jendeukie. We need to talk, remember?" Jisoo said sternly.

"You and Lisa are very similar. Why can't the two of you understand that I don't want to talk about it?" Jennie was irritated.

"Fine, if you don't want to talk about auntie, let's not talk about auntie, but we need to talk about you and Lisa." Jisoo added sternly. Jennie is about to protest again, but Jisoo immediately motioned for her cousin to stop. "Listen, Jendeukie, we both know Lisa only did that because she CARES FOR YOU." Jisoo emphasizes. She was about to say something else when Jennie cut her off.

"But Lisa also knows that I'm still not ready, unnie. She witnessed everything, my mom's confession, the debt, the lies, and the sudden reappearance of that man in our house as if nothing happened. She knows that I'm still hurting, unnie, but she insisted that I should speak to my mom and hear her explanations. I'm tired of it, unnie. What if my mom tells me another lie? I believed her all my life, unnie. I believed in my mom." Jennie said, breaking down in tears.

"Hush, Jendeukie." Jisoo said, hugging her cousin and rubbing her back.

"I understand you Jendeukie, I know you're still hurting. Auntie is wrong, she's very wrong for hiding everything from you, but maybe Auntie has her own reasons for doing all of that." Jisoo said as she let go of Jennie's hug. "Don't think I'm picking sides cos I'm not, but still we both know you can't avoid your parents forever." Jisoo said.

"I-I know, unnie. I know I can't avoid them forever, but for the time being, I'm not ready to face them." Jennie explained to her cousin.

"It's fine, Jendeukie. I know you need more time to heal, and it will take time for you to face them again," Jisoo said. "But about Lisa, I know it's not my place to intervene between the two of you, but in my opinion, she only did that because she wants you and your mom to be alright again. Even I, the truth is, I really wanted to see the two of you like before. Maybe that's what Lisa wants as well, and as a result, she unintentionally hurt your feelings." Jisoo explained.

Jennie begins to wipe her tears and pout at her cousin. "I know what you're thinking Jendeukie. I'm not siding with Lisa here. It's just, we both know that she only cares for you so much. Maybe she thought it would fix everything right away, but she forgot that you're still hurting. Don't worry Jendeukie, I'm going to scold her as well when we see each other. Do you want me to smack her head?" Jisoo said to her cousin.

"And kick her butt." Jennie said as Jisoo wiped her tears away. "But don't be too hard on her, unnie. Lisa has been complaining about her back hurting for a few days now, and it'll be a burden for her if her back and butt are both hurting at the same time." Jennie explains to her cousin.

"You're so whipped, Jendeukie." Jisoo said to her cousin, laughing.

"Thank you, unnie, for telling me those things." Jennie said with a weak smile.

"Should I apply to be your personal advisor from now on?" Jisoo teased her cousin. Jennie smacks her cousin lightly on the shoulder.

"Just kidding, Jendeukie, but seriously, the two of you need to make up soon. I don't like seeing the two of you like that." Jisoo said, making Jennie look down once more.

"I know unnie." Jennie said.

"Are you going to the opening of their bar this evening?" Jisoo asked. "If you're not comfortable going alone, you can come with us. Rosé and I are going." She explained.

"Is Lisa still going there?" Jennie asked.

"Yup." Jisoo said, and Jennie immediately looked at her. Jisoo smirked and wiggled her brows.

"I'll pass, unnie. I'm not in the mood to party. I know you're probably planning something. I know Lisa as well, she wants us to talk right away when she sees me and it's not a good place to solve our problem." Jennie sighed.

"But there are a lot of girls there, Jendeukie. Are you sure you're not going?" Jisoo asked her cousin while smiling wickedly.

"That's why I'm assigning you to keep an eye on her, unnie. Don't let flirty strangers near her, and don't let her drink too much. Tell her to go home early after Seulgi's confession. I'm going to speak with her once she gets home. Don't tell her my plan because she probably wouldn't go there if she knew, and Seulgi might get mad at her." Jennie said.

"I don't want to be a babysitter, Jendeukie." Jisoo grumbled, but Jennie glared at her. "Fine, I'll make sure she gets home early." Jisoo said as she unlocked the doors.

"I have to go, unnie. Thank you again." Jennie said, kissing her cousin on the cheek.

"Good luck, Jendeukie! I hope you and Lisa will reconcile soon!"

Jennie overheard her cousin say as she exited the car. She smiles to herself and puts on her sunglasses so no one notices her puffy eyes. She was on her way to her office when she ran into some of their agency's models.

"Hello, Miss Ruby Jane!" Eunwoo waved and smiled broadly at her, while Hanbin also smiled warmly. Suzy, on the other hand, simply ignored the feline eyed girl and continued to walk ahead of the other models while Nancy immediately bowed to their boss and followed her friend.

Jennie ignored Suzy's rudeness and simply smiled at the other models as she walked to her office.

"That's rude." Eunwoo mumbled as they walked outside the company building.

"Are you saying something, Eunwoo?" Hanbin asked.

"That Miss Suzy Bae, she's gorgeous and hot, but her attitude,...how can I describe it?" Eunwoo pondered, scratching his chin.

"Kind of sucks." Hanbin said expressionless, surprising Eunwoo.

"I can't believe you're going to say that. It's on the tip of my tongue." Eunwoo chuckled.

"But it's true, that girl needs to learn good manners. Maybe someday someone will teach her how to behave properly." Hanbin said with his face still expressionless.

"What are you saying?" Eunwoo asked with his brow furrowed, but Hanbin simply smirked at him. "Whatever B.I., where do you want to eat lunch? I'm starving already." Eunwoo said, clutching her stomach.

"Wherever you want, it's my treat." Hanbin said.

"Your treat! For real! What's the occasion? Have you already gotten the girl of your dreams?" Eunwoo wiggled his brows.

"I'm almost there, but I'm feeling good today, so I'm treating you. Maybe something good will happen later." Hanbin said, smiling.

"So you're still not together. You're always telling me how beautiful and wonderful that woman is, but you never show me pictures of her. I don't even know what her name is. I'm still curious about who she is." Eunwoo said.

"Don't worry, you'll meet her soon." Hanbin reassured him. "Or perhaps you already know her."

"Who is she? Tell me right now, B.I," Eunwoo eagerly said.

"Nope." Hanbin said, smirking. "Just a little more time, and I'll be able to hold her in my arms. Gosh, I've already decided on a name for our first child." Hanbin cheerfully told his friend.

"You're sick." Eunwoo says abruptly, changing Hanbin's mood.

"What did you say?" Hanbin asked seriously.

"I said you were sick." Eunwoo said, as Hanbin unexpectedly grabbed the collar of his shirt.

"B.I. let go. Relax. I'm just teasing you. What I mean is you're lovesick." Eunwoo said. Hanbin immediately let go of him and smiles at him as if nothing has happened. Eunwoo smiles awkwardly as well, though he can't believe his friend's actions.

"I'll tell you right away when she's with me." Hanbin said to him, jolting Eunwoo out of his thoughts.

"Cool. Just don't forget about me when you're in a relationship." Eunwoo said.

"I can't promise you that." Hanbin chuckled, as Eunwoo sighed.

"My buddy is going to be in a relationship soon. I need to find someone as well." Eunwoo said.

Hanbin smiles as Eunwoo gets into the passenger seat of the car.

"But first, I need to get rid of the pest that keeps clinging to her so I can have her all to myself." Hanbin mumbled to himself.

LISA

To pass the time at home, I watched a few episodes of one of my favorite TV shows. My headache has gone away after taking medicine, but I'm still worried about Jennie. I'm still trying to figure out how to reconcile with her. Jisoo unnie called me recently and said she had already spoken with my wife. She informed me that my wife would not be attending the opening of our bar. I'm hesitant to go as well, but unnie told me that Jennie agreed to let me go if I promised not to get drunk and return home early.

I'm still hesitant to leave, but I was reminded of Seulgi's face. It's the first time she's asked for my help before her confession because she usually asks me to drink with her after Irene rejected her. I've decided to stand by her for a few hours and then return home early so I can talk to Jennie. If she would let me talk to her tonight.

I sigh deeply and my gaze suddenly drawn to the broken necklace on the nightstand. I took the necklace and examined it carefully.

"I'm going to buy a new necklace and put the butterfly pendant on it, then I'll give it back to Jennie later." I said with a weak smile on my face.

I took it, put it in my pocket, and went downstairs. Before going to the bar, I decided to leave early to go to the salon and buy a new necklace for the pendant.

Sehun and Chen, my bodyguards, accompany me. They are Mr. Han's most trusted bodyguards. They were previously assigned to protect Jennie. Since Jennie is with the other bodyguards today, I'm bringing these two with me. Mr. Han is unable to accompany me because he is still working on with Kai's investigation.

Chen opens the car door for me, and I get inside. Sehun is driving for me today because Bobby is on leave.

I message Jennie, reminding her not to forget dinner and how much I love her. I sighed deeply as I stared at my phone, still waiting for her reply. I'm still on my train of thoughts when Sehun suddenly speaks up.

"Are you ready to leave Sajangnim?" Sehun asked politely.

"Let's go." I said, and he began driving the car.
