Lily POV
I didn't expect him to respond so confidently, it took me by surprise.
"Seriously?"
Sunwoo: "Yes."
"Um... wow, okay. I don't know how to talk about this."
Sunwoo: "Just say whatever is on your mind about this."
"Well um... my parents weren't the greatest. In fact, they were the worst. They were really strict and I mean really. They used to beat me, starve me, lock me in a dark room unless I obeyed their every rule. I couldn't slip up once, sometimes they would give me a scolding as a warning which is why I have a habit of apologizing when I'm scolded."
He stayed silent for a few minutes but when he spoke, I was shocked.
Sunwoo: "Well, they shouldn't have done that. Especially not to you. Nothing like that will happen to you while you're with us. I promise you that. I used to think that you were pretending to be all quiet but you were taught to be like this. I'm sorry for being so cold, it's been a while since I've let people in."
"I know... Kevin came to my house when it happened. He never told me any details but he looked so broken and he told me that he um... yeah. Kevin told me to give you some time anyway."
Sunwoo: "Well, thank you for being patient."
"It's only been a day."
Sunwoo: "One day in and already I'm protecting you."
"You don't need to."
Sunwoo: "Kevin would kill me if I didn't."
"I mean probably but I would like to think that I can handle myself."
Sunwoo: "Maybe if you had knives with you but you can't bring one of those into school."
"Okay, fair point."
Sunwoo: "So, how come you don't tell the others?"
"Well, Jacob and Kevin know too."
Sunwoo: "Those two are basically your brothers, I mean like the other guys."
"I barely knew how to tell you, I won't be able to tell the other eight. Maybe after some time but not right now. Please, keep it a secret for now."
Sunwoo: "I promise to keep it a secret but you should still the others soon."
"I promise, I will them soon. Tell me something about you now."
Sunwoo: "What do you want to know?"
"Anything, I'm curious."
Sunwoo: "Curiosity can get you killed."
"But, it can also save you."
He seemed to think about this before pouting his lips a bit and nodding his head.
Sunwoo: "Well, the guys know this but I guess you should too now. I have anger issues, I know some of the triggers but I don't know."
He looked down at the ground in a kind of scared and fragile type of way.
"I don't care about that. We all have anger problems, you just have less of a control of them."
He just stared at me.
"Can I tell you something else about me?"
Sunwoo: "Go ahead."
"I've worked with mafias or gangs before. Not like how I am here but I used to be this type of show girl, you know. My parents would have people over and I had to be there in order for my parents to get their way."
Sunwoo: "That's not what parents should do to their kids. It's wrong and manipulative."
"I mean it wasn't that bad... it had its fair share of ups and downs."
Sunwoo: "Well, that's never gonna happen here. I can promise you that."
"No, no promises. If I'm given the choice to do it again to help you guys, I will do it."
Sunwoo: "We're gonna have to disagree on that."
I laughed a little.
"Maybe."
We sat in a silence but the door suddenly opened. Sunwoo jumped up and stood in front of me, protectively.
Kevin: "This is the last room in the house, where else could she be?"
In walked Kevin and Juyeon.
Juyeon: "Told you she was in here... with Sunwoo?"
Sunwoo: "We were just talking."
"Why were you looking for me, Kev?"
Kevin: "I'm tired, let's go to sleep."
"What time is it?"
Kevin: "Like three in the morning."
"Holy shit! Let's go to bed right now."
I rushed out grabbing Kevin's wrist on my way out. I was out of the room but I poked my head back in.
"Night Juyeon oppa. Night Sunwoo."
I ran back out the room and towards Kevin's room. Once I got inside, I grabbed some clothes and changed in the bathroom.
Kevin: "What was that all about?"
I slid into the open bed spot next to him.
"What was what about?"
Kevin: "Why were you in the music room with Sunwoo?"
"He walked in after I did and we just talked."
Kevin: "You talked with him?"
"Yeah, why so surprised?"
Kevin: "Well, he's not the friendliest person to talk to."
"What do you mean by that?"
Kevin: "Ever since... you know, he kind of closed himself off to everyone. He is really nice but he's cold now."
"He's not that cold."
Kevin: "I'm surprised that you two got so close so fast. I thought that he wouldn't talk to you for months."
"He's not that bad, Kev."
Kevin: "Yeah, yeah. Go to sleep, we have work to do tomorrow."
"Okay, okay. Night Kevin."
I pulled the blankets up and fell asleep.
[The next morning]
I woke up the next morning but this time, I woke up before Kevin. I slowly got out of bed and went to freshen up.
By the time I got out, Kevin was still asleep. I quietly left the room and went downstairs to the kitchen. I found Juyeon and Sangyeon in there making food.
"Good morning."
Juyeon: "Morning."
Sangyeon: "Are you hungry?"
"A little, do you have need any help?"
Sangyeon: "No, but could you get the food out of the refrigerator and pack it into smaller bags?"
"For the mission? Sure."
I walked over to the fridge and grabbed the food. It was takeout but I didn't have time to worry about that now. I placed the food on the table and went to ask them for the bags.
"Can I get the bags?"
Sangyeon: "Yeah, Juyeon give them to her."
He gave the bags to me and I grabbed some gloves from the counter.
Sunwoo: "Morning."
"Morning Sunwoo."
Sangyeon: "Can you help Lily with the food?"
He shrugged his shoulders and grabbed a pair of gloves before sitting across from me. His hair was a bit messy and he was wearing sweatpants with a white shirt under a big gray sweater. We silently worked in the kitchen for a while before he broke the silence.
Sunwoo: "Are you ready for your first mission with us?"
"I'm behind a screen, you guys are doing most of the work."
Sunwoo: "You have to make sure we don't die though."
"You guys won't die now injured is plausible."
Sunwoo: "Try not to let us get injured."
He threw a stray piece of lettuce at my head.
"Hey!"
I threw a tomato at him.
Sunwoo: "A tomato is much worse than a piece of lettuce."
"You started it."
Sunwoo: "You made it worse."
Changmin: "If you two don't shut the hell up, I'm gonna kill you."
"It was Sunwoo's fault."
Sunwoo: "It was Lily's fault."
"Was not."
Sunwoo: "Was too."
"Was too."
Sunwoo: "Was not. Wait- I-"
"Nope, too late. I win."
Sunwoo: "Surprisingly."
Kevin: "HAS ANYBODY SEEN- oh thank God."
He walked over to me, bent down and hugged me.
"I'm confused."
Kevin: "Leave the fucking room like that again and I won't let you wear my clothes. Speaking of, isn't that my shirt?"
"...Maybe."
Sangyeon: "Kevin, Changmin, do the bags of food. Sunwoo and Lily, go somewhere else."
Sunwoo: "Come on, I wanna show you something."
He pulled off his gloves and he grabbed my wrist. I threw my gloves on the table as I was being dragged out of the kitchen.
"Where are we going?"
Sunwoo: "It's a surprise."
I groaned as he continued to drag me out. We got to the backyard and he continued to drag me out further. But finally, he stopped. I looked around us and audibly gasped.
"This is beautiful."
Sunwoo: "I thought you might."
We were standing in the middle of a beautiful flower garden. There were different colors surrounding us and none of the flowers seemed to be dying.
"How?"
Sunwoo: "How are they still alive? The garden used to belong to Hwall... me and the guys have been looking after all of the flowers."
"You didn't have to bring me here."
Sunwoo: "No, I think Hwall would have liked you so I wanted to show them to you."
"Well, I have a feeling that this Hwall and I would have been great friends. The way you guys talk about him makes him sound awesome."
Sunwoo: "He was awesome."
Suddenly our phones dinged.

Breakfast is ready.

Sunwoo: "You really are Kevin hyung's sister."
I gasped.
"What gave it away? Was it the hair? It couldn't be our lips? Hm~"
He laughed at my quick ramble.
"But did you notice how Changmin oppa capitalized fuck up. Was he implying something?"
Sunwoo: "Knowing him, yes. Yes, he was."
We both laughed as we walked into the dining room. Everyone was staring at us.
"What?"
Hyunjae: "Nothing!"
"Weird."
Sunwoo: "Tell me about it."
We sat down and ate our breakfast. It was just like dinner but quieter well except Eric but he's... Eric?
Sangyeon: "Okay, we have to get changed so we can go. Chanhee and Lily, go get set up."
We immediately started moving around the house. Chanhee and I walked into the monitor room and he was grabbing things from around.
Chanhee: "Here's an ear piece, it's set up already. Now you can talk to them and they can do the same. You ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be."
I put my ear piece in my ear and sat down in my chair. One by one, I could hear the guys through the ear piece making sure theirs works.
Sangyeon: "Okay, this is an hour drive so Lily get yourself ready for a long sit down."
"I got it, don't worry about me."
Sangyeon: "If you say so. Guys, let's go!"
Kevin: "You'll do great!"
"So, Chanhee oppa... what do we do for an hour?"
Chanhee: "Let's talk."
"Okay, talk about what?"
Chanhee: "Well, Kevin tells us that Sunwoo has already warmed up to you and from what we all saw earlier when you walked into the dining room. It's true. Spill everything."
