Chapter 16

Fraternizing with the kidnapers' son.

Jade's P.O.V

Jamie? I'm not Jamie. I see how someone could get that confused we do kind of look alike. We have the same color eyes, same color hair, but I'm not her. I tried to tell the man in front of me, but my attempts where pointless with this rag in my mouth. "Now, Jamie, you're probably wondering why you're here. Am I right?" he asked me. I nodded my head. Even if I'm not Jamie the least I could do is find out what she has gotten herself into. The room flooded with light and after blinking for a few times I saw the man for the first time since my kidnapping.

He was handsome enough, for an abductor. He was tall and well built. You could tell his body structure from the way his clothes fit so snugly. He towered over me. He was probably in his forties, more or less. He had short graying blond hair and soulless black eyes. His suit was black with a matching tie and a white button up shirt underneath. He looked professional. He stood completely straight. Almost as if a metal rood had replaced his spine and wouldn't allow him to bend even the slightest bit. His name fit him perfectly.

"Well you, my darling, have the one thing my son wants. He doesn't know it yet, but he will. My son, as foolish as he is, will give me what I want if I give him what he wants. This is where you come in, my sweet Jamie. You're going to lure my prey to this very cabin," he said, a sly smile playing on his lips. What does Jamie have that this man could possibly want? Then it clicked. He wants Jacob. That's the only thing that could even slightly make sense. Jacob is the key to whatever this man wants. Knowing Jamie, she's probably leading herself and Jacob here right now.

"Now all you have to do is stand and wait for your dog to show up, better yet sit and wait," the man said with a sickening laugh. This douche was rubbing in the fact that he had taken me. When I get out of this chair, and I will, he is going to eat those words. How dare he talk about Jacob like that? I might not know the guy personally, but you shouldn't go around throwing the word 'dog' willy nilly. The man walked out, slamming the door behind him. The echo still bouncing off the walls and through my ears.

Now that the light was on, I could see the room I was in more clearly. Not that it helped much. The room was completely bare. White walls and a polished wooden floor. I sighed but it came out strangled because of the dirty rag stuffed in my mouth. Thin strips of leather bound my wrists to the arms of the chair. My right arm was bound tightly, while my left was loose enough to move around a bit. Out of the two people that tied me down, the one on the left was obviously not the type of person who did this often. The person on the right was definately a pro. Well, I'm not going to miss out on my opportunity to take advantage of their stupidity. I slid my left arm out from under the leather strap and untied my other arm. I did the same thing to my ankles. Finally, I pulled away the stupid gag that they had tied around my head and threw it down on the floor. "Stupid rag," I whispered, not wanting to make too much noise just in case Simon was still close to the door.

I stood up from the chair. My legs and feet were still a bit numb from the restraints, so I wobbled slightly. Now I just have to get out of here. Quietly, I picked up the chair and propped it under the door knob. That would keep them out for now. I dashed to the window and pulled it open. I looked down below and noticed that I was nowhere near the ground. I must be on the second floor or higher. It was a straight drop to the ground and, from here, it didn't look like I would make it without being killed, or seriously injured. There has to be another way out of here.

I moved the chair from the door and cracked it open. Directly in front of the door was a set of stairs that led down. The upper floorwas centered around the stairs. I opened up the door enough for me to step through. Downstairs I heard a door opening. "Father!" A man called out, his voice deep and demanding. Wow! I don't think I could ever talk to my dad like that. Even if he is a hopeless drunk, now, I still respect that he is my father.

"Son. How nice of you to come. Why don't you have a seat," The man from earlier said. So, his son did come after all. That's too bad he won't get what he wants.

"I don't have time for sitting. Why have you called me here?" Hesaid. His son sounded very impatient.

"I have something for you but it's not quite here yet." Simon said calmly.

"DO YOU EXPECT ME TO JUST SIT AROUND AND WAIT?!?" His son yelled at him. The entire top stairs shook from the power he emitted in his voice.

"Yes. I do," Simon said calmly.

"Fine. I will rest upstairs," He said.

Rest? upstairs? My heart rate accelerated when I heard his footsteps accending the stairs. I have to get out of the hall. I was tempted to go back to the room that I had just escaped from, but chances are, I won't be able to get out again. There was a door a few feet away. I dashed to the door and opened it quickly before slipping in and shutting it behind me.

This room was a small bedroom. There was a queen sized bed tucked in the corner. The bed was made up neatly with a thin silk blue blanket and blue pillows to match. The only other furniture was a white bed side table and a matching dresser. I heard footsteps out in the hallway. They come closer and closer and they stopped just outside of the door of the very room I picked to hide in.

Out of all the rooms upstairs, he chooses this one. The sound of the door knob twisting set me in motion. In one quick movement, I dropped to the floor and slid underneath the bed. I got a few floor burns on my arms and legs but it kept me out of sight. The door opened. Someone walked in and closed the door behind them. I watched the feet come closer to the bed before I closed my eyes. The bed sank to where it was hovering less than an inch over my head. "You can come out. I can smell the blood form your injuries from a mile away. It was a good try though," he said.

I crawled from under the bed and looked at the boy that had discovered my hiding place. "Chance?" I asked. He looked just like that handsome millionaire. Same hair, same green eyes, same overly expensive outfit, even though it looked so simple. A grey tight fitting shirt that hung onto every muscle in his body, a pair of snug fit blue jeans, and some black boots that looked like they cost more than my own life. Which might be true, because his father was able to take me out of the safety of my home (under false pretenses) and no one has showed up to save me yet.

"You know of me?" he asked. So it is him. That's weird that he became so successful with his father being a psycho kidnapper.

"Can you help me escape?" I asked him, my voice desperate.

"I'll help, but only if you kiss me,"he told me. Kiss him? Is he joking? He must be. He held a straight face not letting me read his emotions.

"I have a boyfriend," I told him sternly.

"Yeah, for now. If your dead it won't really matter, will it." He told me.

I felt a pang in my chest. "How dare you! You have no right to say that!" I stood my ground in front of him while he sat on the bed watching my every move like I was prey and he was the hunter. "Just because you're a rich person doesn't give you the right to boss me around and say nasty things like that." My temper had flared up like it seemed to do every so often.

I watched as Chance licked his lips and stood up. He covered the distance between us in a second flat. "Would you rather I say other nasty things? You know, you're hot when you're mad." He whispered into my ear. I felt my heart pounding extremely fast in my chest and my breathing automatically become uneven. I took a step away from him so I could breathe properly.

But Chance had other ideas. Softly he placed one hand on my cheek, and the other on my waist holding me in place. His hand was smooth and his touch was gentle, but that didn't stop my mind for going into hyper mode filling my head with questions. 'What is he doing?' 'Is he going to kiss me?' 'Do I want him to kiss me?' 'What about Nathan?'

He let his thumb rub my cheek and I felt my eyes flutter close unintentionally. I opened my eyes to see Chance leaning in. I had no time to react before his soft lips were on mine, kissing me tenderly. I found myself closing my eyes again and kissing him back.

All the questions that had filled my head where gone. The only thing I could find myself focusing on was how good he felt. His lips felt perfect on mine. His touch was slightly cold but it was nothing I couldn't handle. Chance pulled away from the kiss seconds later and I felt myself silently wishing he hadn't. I opened my eyes to a smirking Chance. His smirk enraged me even more than his 'kissing me doesn't mater if your dead' comment. My hand rose to its own accord. I heard the sound before I realized what I had done.

I had hit Chance. Smacked him right on his cheek. That sure had wiped the smirk off his face. The look on his face was angry. Worse than angry. Pissed.

Jamie's P.O.V

Jeremy had walked less than an inch since we left the apartment. Jacob decided not to stay in wolf form, so he was carrying Jeremy in his arms. When the sun had risen, we all had a quick breakfast then packed up and set off to find Jade. We were still walking through the woods, where almost every tree looked the same as the last. I'm surprised we haven't gotten lost yet, but even if we where I wouldn't be able to tell anyway.

"Are we lost?" I asked Jacob. Turning my head from the sea of trees to see his face.

A small smile was on his face but he looked so tired. I'm not sure if he had slept thought the whole night but he was up before anyone else. 'We are following a trail, basically. You can't get lost.' Jacob said confidently in my head.

'I think where here.' Jacob said in my head.

"We need to think of a plan. We can't go busting in their house." I told Jacob and, the now awake, Jeremy.

"I have a plan," Jeremy said cheerfully.

I smiled at him. "Okay, Jeremy, let's see what you got."
