pretend i do not exist

i've been beaten down

this lonely cocoon

that has become my prison

forever enslaves

in shadows i stand

a nameless face, now disgraced

i've been beaten down

a fading echo

whisper carried on the wind

memories not saved

an open door, closed

i have become a scourge, purged

i've been beaten down
