You Earth's disguise
Find my heart is keener bent
To rise!
Far beneath
The flames may glow
Underneath where thorns all know

Harder lives
And deeper woes
Silent cries and desperate rows
are fought.
Though I'm in the quicksand fast
Though my minute may not last
I am hoping
Looking past
All that's down below
Skies
A wide expanse of blue
Clouds and light
And eagles too
All who found just how to do
Are soaring high above.
Give me wings
And help me fly
I'm a prisoner of Earth's night
Winds or wings or hope or coin
I'm not sure what it takes to learn
To fly
