I got lost
On a journey to hope
Found a cynical tool
To teach me how to cope.
Hired a vengeful man
To bring justice home
Bought a faithful nag
To teach me how to roam.
I found a companion
To be my natural fiend
He sold me a map
That I'd never seen
And I took my life
To find what I should have learned
By the time my first
Paycheck was earned.
Went to journey far
But I found distress
Looking for a hope
Led to hopelessness

On what I could not win

Found my faithful mount
Found my faithful friend.
