The next morning you're laying in bed swirling with emotion... Replaying how annoyed your mom sounded when she came home and found boys over and made them leave, and how worried you were to measure up with the girls Blake usually takes out. Indy is stressing over her pile of makeup and debating her look when you start to cry that you don't even have a dress.
She disappears downstairs and comes back flashing your dad's credit card.
Indiana: "All I had to do was tell him you were bawling because you didn't have a dress and he said to take you to buy one. I know how to handle Dads"
You get back with the perfect dress, shoes and a bag of makeup that will match your skin tone. After she gets herself ready, Indiana spends an hour on your look until the doorbell rings. Bryce and Blake take one look at you walking towards them and their eyes nearly bulge out of their head.
At the dance, Noah spotted you before you made it thru the door. He was standing next to Addison and she was instantly annoyed that he was clearly not listening to her. He couldn't take his eyes off you. An hour into the dance you're ehausted so Blake excuses himself to go get youa drink. Noah got up and walked over to you leaving Addison mid-sentence.
Noah: "Hey... you look great"
You: "Um, thanks. It's different for me"
Noah: "It's... beautiful... you're beautiful"
You: "Thank you, hey do you want to dance?"
You can't even believe you had the nerve to ask that, but before you can backtrack he slips his hand into yours and pulls you onto the dance floor. You admit you don't really know how to slow dance, so he just slides your arms around him and pulls you closer with a smile
Noah: "You sure Blake won't care you're dancing with me?"
You: "Won't Addi?"
Noah: "We're here just as friends"
You: "Same as me and Blake, he's even taking me to a party after"
Noah: *pulling away*
"You do not want to go to a party with him"
You: "What? Why?"
Noah: "His parties are always completely out of control and are just an excuse to hook up... you're too innocent to do that kinda thing"
Is that why Noah wasn't interested in you? Because he thought of you like a baby too innocent to be any fun? You are actually more hurt than you expect that Noah thinks that of you, but before you can object Blake walks up and interrupts
Blake: "Can I have my date back for a slow dance?"
Noah waits for your response and you smile at Blake. You put your hand in his as he pulls you close swaying to the music.
The words "too innocent" swirl in your head as you pull Blake's face to yours and kiss him so intensely everyone stops and stares including Noah. It shocks you how quickly you melt into his arms as he kisses you back. As you slowly pull away, Blake is completely dumbfounded and says breathlessly, "Wow"
You: "Are you still wanting to go to that party tonight?"
Blake: "1000%, you ready to dip early?"
