"What!? An editor? I-I don't need any editor! My work's perfect already!"
"We are sorry Mr. Kishibe, but we've noticed how sometimes, rarely, you'll make mistakes and misspellings- The translators get a bit off-track when correcting it as well. An experienced writer may help you with your magnificent manga." The woman said sincerely.
The mangaka grumbled under his breath, visibly annoyed, and stood up from his seat, leaving his publisher's office. An editor? He scoffed at the thought, surely he believed his work was too perfect, why in the world would he be needing someone to help with it?
Just before he could leave the building entirely, just outside someone had placed a hand onto his shoulder, causing Rohan to reflexively turn to them.
There he noticed a lady standing subtly far from him, looking at him curiously. "Uh, y-you're Mr. Kishibe, right? I'm your new editor, Y/n L/n." She said rather timidly.
He scoffed once more before taking a step away from her, glaring with judgement before turning back on his way down the street.
Y/n still pursued, following after him and not-so-actively being persistent on helping him with his manga; "Mr. Kishibe! I-I'm not so happy to work with someone after y-years of independence too, b-but the publishers said so-so-so why not help each other! You don't have to give me any credit! Just cooperate!"
"I, Kishibe Rohan, don't need an assistant with my work!" Rohan shouted back as she caught up with him.
"I-I... ugh, Mister Kishibe, I'm a very big fan! I've been a fan since your first volume of Pink Dark Boy and when they told me w-we'd be working together I was the-thrilled-!"
Abruptly, he turned on his heel, on his tippy-toes to add on his intimidation to the lady. "Listen, I love my fans, but my manga is a solo act, my work is my work! Now please, let me go-on with my day- Gah!"
Just before he could go, a cat ran by his legs, surprising him. Before he could fall, in a sudden puff of colored smoke, a large marshmallow like surface had cushioned his fall, making the mangaka bounce back up perfectly on his feet. The surface disappeared, and he turned around to the face of the very shocked, wide-eyed Y/n.
"Oh my god! I thought it wouldn't do that this time! I-" She quickly cut herself off, mumbling downbringings to herself silently as Rohan stared at her, an eyebrow raised as he stepped closer.
'W-Was that a stand?... Perhaps, stand-users attract stand-users. But she can't be an enemy, she's too fragile... unless...'
With intrigue, Rohan cupped her face into his hands, staring directly down and observing the girl, which made her even more nervous. With the simple command, Heaven's Door popped into existence, and with a flick of his pen, turning her into another book.
Turning a page, he skimmed over the words; 'Y/n L/n. Age: Twenty-two. A rather cowardly person and stand-user, yet her stand displays the potential of a more challenging and secure persona.'
Triumph, he smiled with the victorious conclusion. "She is a stand-user! But her stand..."
'Stand; Lando. While it hasn't yet gained a more physical body, it's most depicted as a big marshmallow but without the powder, and can also shift into many other objects. Lando will act as a cushioner/shield to protect someone, but only if there's a genuine connection with Y/n and that person. Anyone random, she cannot protect from harm.'
"...Perhaps this will help with some things. More dangerous task... Yes! But I have to get her attached to me." He uttered under his breath. With another flick, she returned back to her conscious self, red with how close the two were.
Rohan let go, taking a step back and answered; "Fine. I'll co-operate. Now, let's get to Morioh. I have to show you my office before we advance."
Y/n replied shortly with a nod; "Right, and thank you too."
Later...
"This is where I work, the shelves are full of my and some other manga." He instructed as the lady timidly looked around, acting like an animal in an unfamiliar habitat.
She then headed over for the desk, looking around in intrigue. How oddly... cute.
"So Y/n," He tracked his gaze down to her, walking towards her skeptically as he spoke; "You have a stand, yes?" "...If that's what those ghosts are called, ye-yes." "And your stand protects people... well then."
With a small smirk, he slinked over to the window, opening the shutters for it to be completely open. He chuckled, almost maniacal before leaning back, losing gravity.
Just before he could fully fall out the window, Lando seemed to have formed into a pool-noodle link figure, wrapping around him and pulling him back to the rather scaredly lady. "Mr. Kishibe! That's very dangerous of you to-" "Ha! You're perfect! Now I have even more opportunity!"
Excitedly, he hugged Y/n like as if she were a teddy-bear. This was going to be a very strange relationship.
