Yoongi's heart hurts, his wolf howling in pain at seeing the omega they care about so much kissing another Alpha.
He just wants the day of the ball to arrive and get it over with. He doesn't want to be stuck here anymore.
"Yoongi? Are you okay?" Jungkook asked worriedly, sensing that something was wrong with his hyung. "You were off ever since yesterday."
Oh, was I that obvious? Yoongi smiled sheepishly at his younger brother. "I'm fine, there's nothing wrong. Nerves about the ball I guess?" Jungkook frowned at his answer, but didn't press further.
"Well if you say so." When Jungkook saw that Yoongi was drifting off again, he got up and walked towards where Kai was playing a game against Dae.
"Can I speak to you for a moment? It's kind of urgent." Kai looked at Dae for confirmation, the other Alpha sending Kai a thumbs up. Kai got out of his seat and followed him outside of the Alphas room.
"What do you wanna talk about? Is it something about Taehyung?" Kai waggled his eyebrows at Jungkook, but when the other didn't smile, Kai deduced there was something wrong.
"What's up?" Jungkook sighed.
"Have you...noticed that Yoongi has been smelling off? Before he had a pleasant sort of smell but now..." Kai finished for him.
"He smells kinda bitter now yeah? I've noticed too, but I didn't really think anything about it since it was so sudden."
They contemplated the situation for a few minutes. "Why don't we just ask Yoongi what's going on?" Kai asked, but Jungkook shook his head.
"I already did, but he told me he was fine and then just...drifted off." Jungkook explained. "Should we observe for now? I don't think Yoongi's willing to tell us what's going on at this moment." Kai nodded his head. "I agree. For now, let us sit and watch."
Yoongi didn't want to wait until the ball.
The others were still in the competition, due to the sliver of hope that the prince may choose them at the end.
Yoongi knew better.
Jimin was going to choose Minjae. Why wouldn't he? He was good looking, rich, and brings vast amounts of wealth to their kingdom. He would be a great choice.
Yoongi? He was poor, wasn't necessarily the handsomest, and a grumpy attitude some times.
He didn't want to dampen the other competitors spirits, so he decided not to tell the others about Jimin and Minjae. He knew Jungkook was secretly having a relationship with Taehyung, and that Kai didn't really care what happens to him, so Yoongi didn't really need to worry about them.
Would he be able to leave early? Yoongi feels cramped in a place that was previously home to him for the past few months. He can't stay. It's making his heart hurt the more he stays.
"How you feeling hmm?" Yoongi turns around to see Minjae smirking at him, his eyes dark with hatred for Yoongi.
"Fuck off." Yoongi snapped, feeling his heart twist unpleasantly. Minjae knew this, his smirk growing wider.
"So, what did you think of last night?" Yoongi ground his teeth at the question, his nails digging into his palms. He couldn't find the strength to snap back at Minjae, not like before.
God, Jimin made him so weak.
"Hmm, it was really nice, you know. Jimin has a nice curvy body with a great ass for my-," Yoongi didn't want to listen, standing up and storming out of the room, Minjae cackling after him.
Before Yoongi left the room, he turned back and looked at Minjae with dead eyes. "I'm going to leave this competition." Minjae's grin deepened. "Fantastic."
Yoongi turns on his heels to leave. He needs to speak with Jimin.
However, it seems like Jimin was avoiding him, since Yoongi didn't see Jimin the whole day, where before, he would see the omega all the time.
Whenever they come upon each other in the hallway, Jimin would smile and wave excitedly at Yoongi.
Gosh, that memory made him nauseous again.
But it turns out, that Yoongi didn't need to look for Jimin, because the prince sought him out instead, knocking on his door a little after 8 o'clock.
When Yoongi opened the door to see Jimin's face, he tried to slam the door, but Jimin stuck his foot through the crack to prevent the door from closing.
"Please Yoongi." Jimin begged, desperation leaking into his voice. "I need to talk to you."
Because Yoongi was fucking weak to Jimin, he release the pressure on the door and allowed Jimin to enter.
"What do you want." Yoongi says flatly, and Jimin closes the door.
"You....weren't supposed to see that last night." Yoongi snorted, fiddling with a piece of cloth. "I think that was pretty fucking obvious." Jimin's eyes widened.
"That-that's not what I meant!" Jimin cried. "Then what did you mean?!" Yoongi yelled, finally looking up from where he was clenching the cloth in his hand.
"You didn't mean for me to see? To know that you've been lying to me the entire time?!" Jimin looked shocked as he shook his head desperately. "No! It's not that!" Yoongi sighed, already feeling worse.
"I wanna leave." Yoongi says simply. "I wanna leave this competition." Jimin opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.
"You-you can't." Jimin replied weakly, clutching the front of his clothes. Yoongi narrowed his eyes at the omega. "Why not? Why can't I leave? Do you still want to torture me by making me watch you crown Minjae as King? What's the purpose of you keeping me here?"
Jimin did not reply, his eyes brimming with unshed tears.
"I...." Jimin trailed off and just hung his head in shame. Yoongi sighed. His wolf was in pain in seeing their omega looking so sad. A faint feeling of protectiveness rose up in Yoongi, but he squashed them down. He can't. He'll just hurt himself again.
"At least tell me why you decided to trick me." Jimin worried his bottom lip with his teeth. "I can't tell you." Yoongi scoffed at his answer.
"So you won't tell me why and you won't let me leave. Fucking fantastic." Jimin didn't answer.
"Get out." Jimin's head shot up. "W-what?" He replied weakly. Yoongi glared at him. "I said. Get. Out."
It occurred to him that he probably shouldn't be talking to the crown prince in that way, but his thoughts disappeared when Jimin hung his head meekly and opened door. He stepped outside and looked at Yoongi sadly before closing the door and leaving Yoongi to his thoughts.
When Jimin left, Yoongi let his tears fall again.
Dammit. Yoongi cried, clutching his heart that was throbbing. He was probably stinking up the room with his distress scent, but he was crying too much to care.
Fuck, an Alpha shouldn't cry like this. A little voice at the back of his head whispered.
"Shut up." Yoongi whispered weakly. He shouldn't have opened that door.
Why couldn't Jimin tell me why?
Why must you make me suffer?
