Imagine:
How could this happen? This wasn't supposed to happen. I can't be in love with my boyfriends best friend. I glance over to my right where he was sitting. His feet were crossed and were moving back and forth, his hands were folded in his lap, and his eyes were on me. I look down at my lap where my hands are enveloped in Luke's.
"Y/N, are you alright?" I hear Luke ask me.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine." I lie.
I'm not fine. How could I be fine when the guy I love is sitting beside me and I can't do anything about it because I'm dating someone else. Before I knew it Luke dragged me up from the couch and leaded me into a different room.
"Babe, you really don't seem okay. Do you want to talk?"
"Luke I said I'm fine." I smile. "I love how you are concerned but I'm good."
He sighs before lifting my chin up to kiss me.
"If something was wrong, you would tell me right?"
"Of course" I say before walking back to the couch.
"What's wrong?" Michael mouths to me and I take out my phone.
"Missing you.. I'm lost and I don't know what to do. Especially about Luke." I send him and he reads it quickly before Luke comes back into the room.
"We should go out tonight. All of us, grab something to eat." I say and everyone nods.
"That sounds fun, we haven't in awhile." Ashton smiles.

We make our way to the back of the restaurant and take our seats. Luke and Ashton on the other side of me and Michael and Calum across. As the night rolled along I had been texting Michael under the table. Only about halfway through our meal I could tell Luke was getting agitated.
"You okay?" I ask him and he sets his napkin on the table.
"I'll be back" he replies getting up. I watch him as he walks outside. I look around the table before walking outside.
"Luke?" I say walking up behind him.
"Do you think I'm stupid?"
"What?"
"I know you were texting Michael the whole night. Am I not good enough to talk to so you have to talk to him? Do you have something for him?" he asks and my breathing hitches.
I wasn't expecting him to ask me that.
"And do you not think I notice how you two look at each other? Y/N it's like your head over heels for him! I let it slide just thinking you guys were getting closer as friends but I definitely can tell that's not what it is." he says when I don't answer.
"I don't want to fight" I say quietly and I see Luke's face soften lightly.
"I don't either, but Y/N, let me ask you this. Who do you love? Me or him?"
I never had thought I would have to choose. I do love Luke, I really really do, but when I'm with Michael or talk to him it's different. He makes me feel something totally different then what Luke does.
"I guess I know where I stand." he shakes his head before going back inside leaving me outside with my thoughts.
