"whatchu thinkin about?" roddy rubbed my back as i laid with my head on his chest.
i got up slowly trying to get used to the tiredness in my legs after the rounds me and roddy just went at it.
i walked into the bathroom grabbing a pregnancy test and shutting the door.
after peeing on it, i set it on a piece of toilet paper just in case it leaked or something.
"Baby" roddy knocked on the door. "let me in"
"j-just give me a minute" i sighed putting the toilet seat down so i could sit on it.
"Vanessa it won't work" he sighed. "i know how much you wanna believe it will but it won't. we've prayed every night that we'd have our own baby and we still haven't"
i brought my hands up to my face and covered my mouth trying to contain my sobs.
"i know it's hard, mama" i felt the tears run down my cheeks. "but we have kenny"
i just sat there quietly sobbing while roddy stood at the other side of the door.
"ness just-"
"no roddy!" i yelled. "don't tell me how to feel about our baby! i can't have one! it makes me feel like i don't even have a purpose anymore!" i heard him sigh.
the door unlocked and opened as i brought my knees up crying into them.
"come here" he shushed me pulling me to the floor hugging me as i continued to cry in his chest. "i know, mama. i know"
i sniffled pulling away reaching up to grab the test bringing it down between us.
"we'll keep trying" roddy lifted my chin as i began to cry again. "Ness" he sighed grabbing the test.
my breathing hitched as my cries broke through my chest. i couldn't stop it.
"Vanessa!" roddy groaned making me jump at his raised voice. "i'm sorry" he sighed. "i just.. we've been knew about this. you gotta stop crying about it"
"are you fucking with me?" i stood up mugging him. "roddy i had a miscarriage when i was 15! i was raped multiple times and my ability to become pregnant was taken from me!" i cried. "don't be selfish just because you can't feel my pain"
"Vanessa i can! if you can't have a baby then that means we won't have a baby! it hurts me too!"
"it doesn't fucking sound that way" i waved him off walking back into our bedroom.
"Vanessa" he pulled me back. "i'm sorry ight? but you can't be stuck on this forever"
"it's MY body, Rodrick" i crossed my arms.
"mommy?" we turned our heads seeing kenny at the door.
"what you doin up" roddy sighed walking to the door picking him up.
"i heard mommy daddy screaming" he frowned.
"mommy and daddy are just disagreeing baby" i sighed sitting on the bed.
"sleep with mommy and daddy?" kenny wrapped his arms around roddys neck.
"come on" roddy furrowed his eyebrows at me.
"yay!" he giggled as roddy brought him over to our bed.
he got in the middle of the bed snuggling up to me pulling the blanket up to him.
"you two are so clingy towards eachother" roddy sighed getting in bed.
"i'll be back okay? mommy's gonna go to the bathroom" i smiled down at kenny before kissing his head.
"okay mommy" he giggled snuggling up to roddy as
i went in the bathroom.
i shut the door behind me and walked over to the pregnancy test i just took. i sighed at the negative sign before throwing it in the trash and sitting on the toilet seat shaking my legs beginning to think.
kenny starts school next year when he's 5.. i hope he's good. he's always been a good kid. he never really fights me and roddy about anything unless it's getting shots or something.
i heard something vibrate making me furrow my eyebrows looking for where it came from.
i soon found roddys phone on the ground and multiple messages from instagram.
