Y/n watched as the boys practiced, mainly watching Ennoshita. He was now the captain which gave him more of a presence on the court.
During a break, y/n and Yachi where handing out water bottles. Y/n started handing them out from one side and Yachi on the other.
"Did you see me jump really high y/n?!" Hinata said and y/n nodded in response, he was disappointed he hadn't impressed her with his jumping "why don't you seem impressed? I'm so short and I jumped really high!"
"She's been to all our games, remember?" Ennoshita said taking a water bottle from Y/n "thanks" he said before turning to Hinata "she's not impressed because she's seen it before"
"Ohhhh right, sorry, I forgot" he said hanging his head "I just never noticed you so I forgot you went to all of them"
"That's ok" she said as she was used to going unnoticed
Hinata ran off to talk to Kagayama and left Y/n with Ennoshita
"Sorry bout them" he laughed "they keep bringing up how no one notices you, that can't be fun"
"It's ok, I'm used to it by now" she sighed "I mean, I've always been shy and quiet. A lot of times my teachers wouldn't realize I was in class until they started the lesson, I was always early because Daichi had morning practice"
"Ah, I see, last year I kinda went unnoticed with all the new people, don't get me wrong, I love those guys, they're awesome, but being older I was a little jealous ya know?"
"You had a right to be, you're older and they took your spot. Anyone would be jealous" she said smiling at him
"Thanks, it was nice talking to you, I gotta go back now." He turned to leave "wait, sense it's gonna be dark when practice ends I'll walk you home, don't want ya to get kidnapped" he laughed and went back to practicing
Y/n smiled. She was beginning to feel very comfortable around Ennoshita, and kinda forming a crush on him. He was nice to her, he was cute, and he was smart. All the things she looked for in a guy, he had them.
Practice ended and they started cleaning up. Y/n was taking down the net while standing on a stool to help her reach when she lost her balance and fell. She was waiting to hit the ground but she never did, instead someone caught her. Ennoshita caught her.
"Daichi said you might be a little clumsy" he laughed holding her in his arms
"Thanks" she said as he put her down, her face bright red because she was just being held by her crush
"No problem" he said then he saw her face "oh my, are you ok? Your face i- it's all red!" He said his cheeks were a little pink
"Well, Ennoshita, your face is a little red too" Noya teased which made his face go even more red which in return made Y/n's even brighter then before
"What do you mean by that?" He said flustered
"Oh you know what I mean by that" he said teasing him even more
~ early that day during lunch~
Ennoshita was eating lunch with Tanaka and Noya and they had started talking about girls, obviously Kiyoko was the main subject for the two who where still in love with her.
"Ennoshita, what about you?" Noya teased "any girl you got your eye on?"
"I don't know, maybe?" He shrugged sipping his drink
"Oh! Is that girl you were walking into school with this morning?" Tanaka teased
"What?! No!" Ennoshita said flustered
"Oooooo your face is red! It is her!" Noya exclaimed
"You guys are literally the worst" he said defeated
"Sooooo what's her name?" Tanaka said teasing him
"You'll find out later" Ennoshita said knowing they'd meet her later at volleyball practice
"Later?" They both said in unison
~ back to present time ~
"Shut it Noya!" He said becoming a very bright red and covering Noya's mouth so he couldn't talk
"So this is what you meant when you said "you'll find out later" at lunch" Tanaka said teasing him
Ennoshita moved his hand from Noya's mouth and grabbing his shirt dragging him as he walked over to Tanaka to do the same. He dragged them outside and closed the door locking it in the process. Y/n just stood where Ennoshita had left her very confused.
"I'm sorry about them" he said looking at Y/n "alright let's finish up"
They finished cleaning and Ennoshita let the two boys back in after talking to them for about 15 minutes about what only they know about and it looked like they had been hit in the head as well. Y/n giggled at them coming in behind Ennoshita with their heads hung down.
"I'm so glad you joined the team y/n" Yachi smiled "I'm glad theres another girl around"
"I'm glad I joined as well!" She said smiling at Yachi
"Hey y/n, you ready to go?" Ennoshita said coming up behind her
"Yeah, one second" she went and grabbed her bag and jogged back to join Ennoshita "bye Yachi"
"By y/n!" Yachi waved
"You and Yachi seem to be getting along" Ennoshita pointed out
"Yeah, she's really energetic though" she laughed
"That's why we think her and Hinata would make a great couple" he laughed "do you agree?"
"Definitely, those two scare me with that much energy" she laughed
"I wanna apologize for earlier, the whole Noya and Tanaka thing. I know that put a lot of attention on you." He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck
"It's fine, I mean it was more directed at you anyway"
"Yeah, I guess you're right, I just wanted to apologize for it" he smiled
"Well I accept your apology"
"Ok, good" he laughed
"What were they even teasing you about anyway?" She asked
Ennoshita realized she had started acting more like she did around Suga and Asahi around him and that made him happy.
"It's nothing" he said putting his hands in his pockets as they walked and his face dusting a little pink thinking about what it was actually about but it was dark and Y/n couldn't see that.
They continued walking in a comfortable silence. There was a hole in the side walk that Ennoshita didn't see and tripped and fell on the ground
"Oh my gosh! Ennoshita are you ok?" Y/n said frantically going to his side
"Yeah, I'm ok" he said getting up with a scratch on his forehead
"Ok" she said as she walked up to her front door. He had fallen right in front of her house. He walked up to the door just to make sure she could get in. She unlocked the door "come in and let me clean you up real quick, as a thank you for catching me earlier"
"Really, I'm fine"
"Please"
"Ok" he said looking at her face thinking it was cute the way she looked at him worriedly and wanted to take care of him
"Daichi! I'm home!" She yelled "Ennoshita's here too"
"Woah, you have a volume above a regular voice" he teased
"When I'm at home, yes" she laughed. There was no answer from Daichi so she went and knocked on his door, still no answer. She opened the door to see him passed out on his bed. "Oh, he's asleep" she grabbed the first aid kit from the closet and walked back to where she had left Ennoshita.
"Is Daichi home?" Ennoshita said as she came back
"Yeah, he's passed out in his room, probably did some kind of crazy work out or something"
"Sounds like him" he said as he sat down at the table she had put the first aid kit on
"Yeah" she laughed "this might sting, it's just something to disinfect it though" she wiped the cut with the cotton ball she had put the disinfect on, Ennoshita made a face when she started whipping the cut telling her it did sting "sorry"
"It's fine" he said still in a little pain
She put a bandage on the cut after she put some medicine on it. It was a little worse then she originally thought but it wasn't horrible, just a little bit worse then a scratch
"And there you go" she smiled
"Thanks" he said returning the smile
"See ya tomorrow, Ennoshita" she said as he left
"See ya tomorrow" he turned and waved
Ennoshita walked into his house putting his keys on the table
"I'm home!" He yelled as his mom came in handing him his little brother (Authors note: from what I know he doesn't have siblings but I'm adding in one)
"What happened" she said as she touched the bandage on his forehead, he made the same face as he had made when y/n was cleaning it
"I tripped on a whole in the sidewalk coming home from practice, Y/n insisted on cleaning it as a thank you because I saved her from falling earlier"
"Y/n? Sawamura Y/n?" She asked
"Uh, yeah, she's the assistant manager of the volleyball team now" he said his cheeks a little pink
"Really? I didn't know she had started high school yet" she laughed and then realizing her sons pink cheeks "I'm guessing by your rosy cheeks we'll be seeing more of Miss Sawamura sometime soon"
"Mom!" He whined and his little brother giggle at the sound of his older brothers voice
"Ok, ok. I have the night shift today, can you look after Michio for me?" She asked
"Of corse! I love looking after him" he said tickling him earning a cute giggle from his little brother
"Thank you sweetheart" she said kissing his cheek as well as his little brothers "bye you two" she said as she left.
*ding*
Ennoshita pulled out his phone to a picture of him holding Y/n, he looked at who it was from "of corse Noya would take a picture of that" he said sighing "I'm not complaining though." He said as he smiled and put his phone back in his pocket after saving the picture
"What should I do Micho?" He asked his little brother getting a cute giggle in response "should I tell her?" He just got another giggle "your not much help are you" he got once again another giggle "well at least your cute" he smiled
