Haikuan who was sitting on the small couch in zhan's room, could not help but laugh and shake his head at the two brothers fighting. He watched, amused, as zhuo cheng sat on the side of zhan's bed with a small bowl of congee and a spoon held near zhan's face to make his brother eat the food. Zhan was sat upright leaning on the headrest with his arms crossed on his chest, arguing with Cheng, not wanting to eat the clear congee. The two siblings fought over the simplest things, even after growing up, they still didn't change.
"Haikuan-ge! Tell this furious lotus to get me something more tasty!" Zhan called out to haikuan.
"I can understand how you feel zhan. I'd also feel the same if i ate boring tasteless and watery congee for 2 days straight....i think....now u can eat something different.. Now that ur health is improving a lot..." Haikuan said and immediately ducked when a cushion flew towards him from zhuo chengs direction.
"You are not helping!" Cheng billowed an threw another cushion towards haikuan who dodged it while laughing.
"That's why haikuan ge is the best. Unlike u idiot who--OUCH! that hurts!!" Zhan was cut off mid sentence when an elbow landed in his chest from his brother.
"That's for calling me an idiot, a damn duck and a furious lotus!" Cheng said. " For godsake! Just eat it for now! Today is supposed to be the final day of your dietary routine given by the doctor!"
"I'm gonna tell yibo that u are torturing his sick boyfriend!" Zhan said while pouting.
"Who's torturing who?" A voice said, followed by the arrival of yibo inside the bedroom. Zhan beamed.
"Speak of the devil...." Cheng mumbled. Yibo came and sat beside zhan and caressed his hair lovingly.
"My brother is calling me a brat and making me eat that awful porridge. I don't want to eat that! I am eating plain rice with boiled potatoes for dinner, two boiled eggs and salad for breakfast, and this stupid congee for lunch! How long will i eat this!?!" Zhan said angrily. Cheng huffed.
"Todays the last day. But if u dont eat it now, I'm never buying u ice creams ever again! I will give away all ur Marshmallows to
a-yuan!" Cheng said.
"You--!! Yibo say something to that beast!" Zhan said. Yibo glared sideways at Cheng, with that look it was clear what he meant to say. Take away my zhan's marshmallows and i will make sure u get toasted like a marshmallow.
Cheng rolled his eyes. Haikuan laughed at his brother's threatening look towards zhan.
"Zhan..eat it for now...or else we are gonna have to call the fire brigade to blow out a-cheng's fire..." Haikuan said sarcastically. Cheng glared at haikuan and threw a towel towards him. Haikuan catched it before it can hit him.
Yibo took the bowl of congee from cheng's hand and looked at zhan affectionately.
"Zhanzhan just try to eat it for now OK? Its the last day of ur diet. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy you loads of chocolates, and we will eat them together while watching a movie. Just control it for today, OK love?" Yibo said gently. Zhan looked at him.
"You will bring me chocolates....?"
"Yes. Loads of them. All ur favorite ones"
"..............OK...fine i will eat this" zhan finally said in a low voice. Yibo and haikuan grinned. Cheng looked at zhan in disbelief.
"I have been trying for hours! U didn't agree no matter what i told u! Now yibo came, and ur stubborn ass is all obedient?!" Cheng said angrily.
Zhan just flashed out his tongue towards his brother. Yibo looked sideways at Cheng and flexed his eyebrows in victory. Cheng rolled his eyes.
"Alright. Make sure to eat it full and take your pills. I'm going to buy ur medicines." Cheng said and left the room.
"No matter what he does or says...he still loves you and cares about you...but he never changed his hot temper." Haikuan said while smiling. Zhan smiled.
"I know. Secretly he certainly is the person who gets the award of the best brother in the world." Zhan said and took a mouthful of congee from the spoon yibo was holding to feed him. Yibo and haikuan laughed at zhan's puking face. Zhan forced himself to swallow it without gagging out the contents on yibo's face.
"Ew.....yuck..." Zhan muttered through gritted teeth. Yibo made him drink water and wiped the remaining water from zhan's chin. Haikuan stood up.
"I will take my leave now then...have some office work. Zhan take care of yourself OK? Take ur medicines properly and if my little bro says anything bad then dont hesitate to call me...I'll kick his ass for you." Haikkuan winked and left the room before anyone could say anything else. Both zhan and yibo laughed.
"Guess we both have the worlds most crazy brothers..." Yibo said while making zhan eat his meds after finally making him finish the food.
"Your right.... But a-cheng's more crazier than haikuan-ge....."
"Oh....u don't want to know what he does to make me do whatever he wants me to do...." Yibo mumbled. Zhan laughed.
Yibo put away everything and made zhan lie down comfortably. Their parents already left for beijing as they have important works which cannot be delayed. Haikuan and zhuo cheng stayed behind to make sure everything was alright. They will leave for beijing tomorrow morning. Yibo stayed at zhan's house to take care of him.
After finishing everything, yibo pulled down the curtains to dim out the daylight. He came back and laid down beside zhan with his head poised upon his hands.
"Zhan zhan...."
"Hmm...."
"I was so scared during those days u were missing.....i didn't eat anything....didnt sleep...my whole mind was in chaos....my mind didn't seem to register to the hunger and tiredness...all i could feel was the pain....immeasurable pain....i felt like a huge part of my existence was torn away from me...." Yibo said while burying his face in zhan's neck. Zhan hugged him tightly.
"Never do that again....never hurt urself for me...i promise u that i will be safe.,..u r there to protect me, right? What else is there for me to fear?" Zhan said in a low voice. Yibo didn't say anything but instead tighten his hold around zhan.
They stayed silent and after a few moments, yibo heard zhan'S snores. He kissed his forehead and the both of them fell asleep in eachothers arms.
After an hour, haikuan entered the room to tell yibo something but was overwhelmed when he saw the two of them sleeping peacefully while cuddling. He grinned and tiptoed near the bed. He took out his phone and clicked a picture of them sleeping.
Haikuan looked at the picture and smiled.
"Love birds....."
