i remember the first time i ever told you i loved you.
we were in my basement joking about some random shit
and talking about music
and i played a song that i loved
and you said you really liked it.
i was like,
"oh my god, i love you-"
it slipped out before i even realized it.
you looked shocked.
you blushed.

we both looked like deer in headlights, staring at each other for a moment.
i was afraid because i didnt mean to say it, though i had known it for some time.
you smile and laugh a little bit, your face still red as ever.

you scooted over to me and hugged me.
you put your head on my shoulder and i held you in my arms for a moment.
you were curled up and trying desperately to fit in my lap even though you were so much taller than me.
but i held you the best i could.

i can smell your shampoo.
one arm is wrapped around you and the other
lightly runs up and down your arm,
shoulder,
up the side of your neck,
up your face
and into your hair,
and then back down again.

you let me eat my favorite flavors and ate everything i didnt like.
