It was like any normal morning in the the classroom of 2A of Saoirse Academy. Students were slowly starting to fill their seats as morning greetings were exchanged between friends. As usual, Charlotte was the first one to arrive and was arranging her books according to her class schedule.
"Did you hear about the ice princess yesterday?"
"Oh yea! It seems someone tried to accuse her of bullying again?"
"I was surprised someone defended her for once"
"Hmm... If only she was a lot more friendly to others then maybe she'd had more people to speak up for her"
"Oh yes. Her face is beautiful but, scary. She looks like she would bite your head off if you offend her"
The whispers of her classmates weren't particularly soft so Charlotte could hear everything. However, she did not pay attention to them at all... instead she was a bit distracted at the fact someone who was shamelessly staring at her for a long time.
"Excuse me but do you have something to say to me, sir?" Charlotte couldn't take it anymore as she turned her head to her right where her next door seat mate was sitting. He had never bothered to talk to her before so why was he staring at her so intensely now?
『 What is it? What do you want? I don't know who you are but leave me alone please! I can't take someone staring at my face! Uwaaa 』
The strawberry haired man broke out into a grin, his eyes twinkling in delight.
"I'm hurt that you don't even remember my name despite sitting next to each other for almost 4 months" he placed his hand on his chest, feigning a sad expression.
『 Don't take it to heart. I never expected to make friends anyways so I don't care to memorise anybody's name 』
"My name is Caspian Wolfe"
"... "
『 What is this? Should I introduce myself too? I've never held a friendly conversation with my classmates before 』
"Don't worry, Lady Charlotte Bellarose. I know who you are so you don't need to introduce your name to me" he winked.
"... "
『 Wha- what do you want? Gosh you must want to copy my homework don't you? It's not possible you want to be friends right? 』
Charlotte had not realised this whole time that she and Caspian were talking to each other without her even uttering a word out. Caspian laughed in his heart, thinking that this young lady was certainly a lot cuter than her cold appearance.
"Would you like to have lunch sometimes, Lady Charlotte? I would love to get to know you better"
Charlotte's blue eyes widened slightly. She could not believe her ears. Someone actually invited her for lunch?
"... "
『 I've never had lunch with a friend before. Ah wait! He probably doesn't think of us as a friend. Maybe he pities me that's why he asked me for lunch 』
"I would very much like to be your friend, Lady Charlotte. It would be an honour to accompany someone as beautiful as you for lunch"
"Aren't you afraid of me?" she questioned. It's impossible for him not to know about her infamous reputation. But instead of expecting a 'Yes' as a reply, he shook his head and smiled.
"Not at all. I think there's more to you than meets the eye"
"W- well... I- If you must insist, Sir Wolfe"
『 My first friend! My very first friend! I'm so happy! Wait no Charlotte ... hold it in. Don't let your mouth twitch 』
Caspian's mouth hooked upwards, looking at this adorable lady whose mouth was trembling as she desperately hid back her smile. Was this what others would refer to as the "dere" side to a "kuudere" personality?
『 Even if my first friend is someone who seems quite frivolous and obnoxious... 』
Caspian's crescent moon eyes and smile froze.
'Frivolous... and obnoxious. Oh my. Lady Charlotte is quite the savage in her thoughts' he felt like he had taken quite a few mental damage back there. Although, he couldn't really refute her since he really was a bit too frivolous in nature.
"Pfft!" a laugh came from the corner of the classroom.
Everyone's attention turned to the culprit who was covering his mouth with his hand. He had gone red from the attention as well as trying to stifle back his laughter. Charlotte's eyes blinked as she recognised the forest green hair before her. Wait, was he always in her class? She hadn't noticed him before... but to be fair, she never noticed anyone else either.
"May I invite Sir Albertine to lunch as well?" she turned to Caspian.
"... Sure"
'I wanted to get to know her alone though' he thought but shrugged it off. There was plenty of time to get to know her anyways and he wasn't in any rush since they shared the same class.
Charlotte left her seat and walked towards Kit whose eyes grew as large as saucer plates at the sight of a beautiful goddess walking towards him.
"Sir Albertine, if you do not have any prior engagement, would you like to join me and Sir Wolfe for lunch?"
She was still feeling grateful towards Kit who had saved her yesterday and in return, she felt like she should at least buy him lunch as thanks.
"I- I-" he stammered. His face was once again tinged red. It seems he was the type to get embarrassed at everything.
"A- are you sure it's alright?" his big brown eyes reminded her of a puppy dog's eyes.
『 Of course it's alright! You're my saviour! 』
'S- saviour is a bit too much!' he wanted to say out loud.
"Yes of course! Please allow me to buy you lunch as thanks" she nodded.
"T- then... If you'll have me" he smiled shyly as he wiggled his shoulder, looking like a girl who just accepted her first confession.
'Uwaa... What's up with that really weird rosy mood over there?' the corners of Caspian's mouth twitched.
