The second group included Alexander, George, Vallteri, Sebastian, Esteban, Daniil, Lance, Antonio, Kevin and Charles. They broke their walk when the concrete road stopped and the following part of their way was sand. The group saw a few trails of what hopefully were tractors as they decided to follow it.
The group of drivers came to a red house made of wood with a thatch. "Soo, who's gonna knock?" Kevin asked. Everyone looked at eachother and just like childs, they pointed at their noses. "Not me!" Most of the boys shouted, except from Kevin. "Ah god damn" he swore under his breath, making the other drivers laugh.
Kevin approached the house and knocked on the door with a firm fist. The door opened a few moments later with a tall man, muscular build and a grumpy look on his face. He looked a bit older, like 50 or so. Kevin gulped and Alex and George, as always, were trying their best not to break into laughter.
"U-uhm Hello sir, me and my friends have a question." "What?" The man sternly said back. Kevin straighten up and looked the man in the eyes. He smiled friendly. "Could we please borrow five of your tractors, if that is possible?" The man looked at the group of boys and back the Kevin who was still in front of him. "What are you gonna do with it?" The man asked. "We are formula 1 drivers, and we would like to do a race with tractors" Kevin said. The man looked at them doubtedly. Kev saw it. "We pay all the damage if there is any!" He quickly said. The Man finally nodded as the group sighed in relief.
1 hour later
The boys had their helmets on, just in case something happens, as they were ready to race. They missed racing and this was a good way to fill their racing heart a bit. It was now time to create the pairs. "Let's just pair up randomly with this site" Nicholas said. The group agreed as Nicholas puts all the names in the pair-generator.
"Okay sooo.. the first pair is..." everyone waited in impatience like they are children, but can you really call some drivers man? "Daniel and Lewis" Nicholas finished. "Ayy" Daniel said, giving Lewis a handshake while Lewis laughed. "Nice, nice" he said. "Okay the next pair..." there was a short silence. Nicholas smiled to Lando. "The Mclaren boys!" "Landoooo" Carlos said while he wrapped one arm around the smaller boy to side hug him while Lando laughed.
Nicholas smiled at the duo before looking back at his phone. "Alright! The next pair will include.. Sergio and Daniil" the two looked at eachother and made a little handshake. "Nice, we're gonna win for sure" Sergio said and laughed as Daniil did the same. "Okay, next duo.. Valtteri and Romain!" The two drivers walk up to each other and bro hug. "Nice to work with you mate" Romain said as Valtteri nodded.
"Nice" Nicholas said with a chuckle as he continued to share the other pairs. "The fifth duo is..." Nicholas bursted out in laughing as the others watched in confusion. "What's so funny?" Esteban asked with an akward smile. "W-well... you're paired up with Max" the french driver looked in shock and then turned to Max, who had the same look on his face "What!?" Max asked in shock, and everyone bursted out in laughter. "No changes!" Nicholas said while he tried stopping laughing. The boys crossed their arms and huffed, making the others laugh harder.
(Just want to make clear that I don't know how their current friendship is, because they seemed fine at the start of the season, but this is just for the sake of the story! Hope ya enjoy it so far!)
When everyone -except from the two grumpy drivers who just got paired up against their will- were done laughing, Nicholas continued to announch the other 5 duos. "The next pair is.. oh! Ayy Pierre we're a team!" Nicholas said. "Nice" Pierre said with a smile as he gave Nicholas a brofist.
"Alright, the following duo is... Antonio and Lance" the two drivers shared a look and nodded as they smiled a bit. "Great, the next duo is.. Kevin and Alexander!" "We're gonna beat ya hard Russell!" Alex shouted at his friend with a laugh while walking up to the Haas driver. "We'll see about that, Albono!" George shouted back with a smile on his face.
"Okay, so. The second last duo is.. Charles and George!" George layed his hand on the Ferrari driver his shoulder and turned to Alex. "Hah! Still sure you're gonna win?!" "Hella sure mate!" They started laughing while Charles joined at their stupidness. After they were able to breath again, Nicholas annouched the last duo so they could finally start racing. "And then last but not least, Kimi and Seb!" "Hey mate, guess we're teammates again!" Seb said with a smile on his face. They hug and smile at eachother. "You ready to win?" The German said with a grin. "Bwoah" Kimi shrugs but can't hide the small smirk playing on his lips.
A few minutes later
"When I yell 'Go', the race starts!" Daniel shouted over the loud, yet nice sound of their tractors. The drivers all gave their thumbs up while Daniel was standing in the cabin with the door open. "Okay! Three, Two, One..." all the duos had their own strategy. For example, Lando was sitting next to Carlos who had his fingers tightly wrapped around the steering wheel. Lando was the one making sure where their competitors were. Lando looked out of the window and saw the George and Charles. The three shared a wave, but Lando nearly fell backwards as the 'Go' signal was given.
Most of the tractors got away well, except from a yellow one which included Max and Esteban. "No I want to drive!" Esteban yelled as he pulled on the steering wheel just like the Redbull driver. "Come on! They already started!" Max finally won as the other teams had a large gap from the two drivers who kept on fighting.
Meanwhile at the front, Lewis and Daniel were making pace while they screamed at how hard this thing could actually go. Seb and Kimi were closely following in second while they were discussing what they should get after they won. The two shared a quick look and nodded with a smile. "Ice cream" they said at the same time.
While the rest of the field was going well, there were two teams at the back -apart from Max and Esteban- who weren't making pace at all. Their screams and laughs were louder than their engines. Yes, you might have already guessed. "George!! What the hell dude!?" Alex shouted while Kevin tried focussing on the race. George started laughing aswell as Charles was trying his best to contain his laughing at the moment George was bumping against Alexander and Kevin their tractor.
While the rest of the group continues their close race, the Esteban-Max duo wasn't doing great. If you look from the front, you could see their tractor shaking from not only the bumpy road. Their was a lot of shouting, but -suprisingly after a few minutes- there was silence and they sort of got along. They were making quite a pace, so they soon passed the two teams who were, to their frustration, slow as hell.
As the duos make their way closer to the finish, they were fully focussed on their own driving. "Come on Kimi! Remember the ice cream! It's waiting for us!" Seb said as he jumped in excitement. They made their way inside the last corner, the two left wheels slightly leaving the ground while even Kimi screamed. They overtook Lewis and Daniel who were staring in disbelief as they crossed the finish line in second. "F*ck!!" Daniel screamed but couldn't contain his contanious laugh, so Lewis joined laughing aswell.
Team Mclaren were third who were celebrating like they won. Soon the rest of the teams crossed the line as they were all gathered around. "Bleh I'm dizzy from that bumpy ride" Lando mumbled, but it was heard by his teammate. The Spaniard gently grabbed the younger ones arm. "Come, let's get you some water buddy" he said softly with a smile while he had his other hand on Lando's back. the duo made their way to the house. "They are actually adorable, not kidding." Sebastian said. "Yeah, agree" Lewis said as they watched the two walk away.
The only teams who weren't there yet was, obviously, team Kevin and Alex and team Charles and George. Suddenly there was a loud toot as the rest of the group turned around. The sight of two tractors with a mental pace was coming up to them while Alex and George were sticking up middle fingers to eachother. Eventually, team Alex and Kevin crossed the line before Charles and George could.
As soon the vehicles stopped, both doors flew open and George and Alex ran up to eachother with big grins on their faces, clearly having the same idea. "Come here Albono!" George said as he pulled the Redbull driver with him to the ground, both falling in the mud laughing loudly. The other decided to leave those two alone for a bit. Charles was a bit behind the group and looked in the distance. Living with your rivals was suprisingly good and I enjoy it, Charles thought by himself..
