I walked up the stairs to check on Jasmine again.I had her staying with me while she healed from her surgery.I was honestly worried for her.I could hear her crying at night.I knew it wasn't about her nose.She was hurting and I was trying my best to help.
"Hey Jas?"I knocked
"Mhm."She mumbled
I entered the room and saw her laying in bed on her laptop.
"I told you that you didn't have to work."I told her
"I know but Im bored."She said
I sat next her on the bed.
"I brought you some soup.I have to go soon but Oli's gonna come check on you."I told her
She looked at me."You're leaving?Where are you going?"
"I have to go to tour rehearsal."I told her
Her eyes dropped from mine."Okay."
I rubbed her shoulder."It's only a few hours.Oli will be here."
"Yeah.I know."She nodded
"Uh..Trav went up to the office looking for you today."I told her
She shook her head and continued typing.
"You can go if you have somewhere to be Aub.I'll be okay."She said
I kissed her head."Oli's on the way."
"Okay."She nodded.
"I love you."I told her
"I love you too Aubrey.Thank you for taking care of me."She said
"Of course.It was kinda my fault anyway."I joked
"Can't argue with that."She said
I smiled.
"Can you come here?"She asked lowly
I came closer to her.She pecked my lips.
I pulled away and smirked at her."I'll see you later baby."
Jasmine
As Aubrey left I called Travis.
"Jas where are you?I wanna talk."He answered quickly
"I broke my nose a few days ago.Im at Aubrey's house."I said
"What?Are you okay?"He asked
"Im fine..but Im not ready to see you so please just leave me alone and stop going to my job."I told him
"..Okay.I love you."He said
I hung up and put my phone down.
I answered emails and listened in on meetings from work through conference call.
I saw Oliver appear at the bedroom door.
"Hey."He said
I muted myself.
"Hey."I said
"I brought snacks."He held up a bag
I smiled."Thank you."
He sat down on the edge of the bed.
"You need anything?"He asked
"No.Im doing okay right now.My medicine is starting to make me a little woozy so I'll probably take a nap soon."I said
He nodded."Well that's pretty easy."
I chuckled.
"So um..question."He said
"Mhm?"I hummed
"When are you gonna give my boy another chance?"He asked
"I..I don't know.Im not exactly over Trav..and all of that.But also..Aub doesn't want marriage.I do.I want kids.I want a family.A real one..and I don't think it's wrong to know what I want."I told him
"I understand.I just think you two can work it out.Compromise."He said
I shrugged."I don't know.For now, I need to focus on work and my nose."
He nodded."Alright then boss lady."
I shook my head playfully.
"Oh..uh I gave OB your number.He wanted to talk.Apologize for what he said."He told me
"What about Aub?Is he gonna apologize to him?"I asked
"Eventually, yes."He said
I huffed."Whatever."
We talked for a little while longer before I decided to take a nap.

While I was on my way home from rehearsal I got a call from Robyn.
"Hello?"I answered
"Aubrey."I could hear her smile
"Hey Rob.What's up?"I asked
"Heard about your album coming.Wanted to see how you're doing.How's your baby boy?"She asked
"Im great and he's great too.How are you?"I asked
"Im doing good.Vacationing...I'll be in New York in a few days.We should do dinner."She said
I paused.
"Uh sure.I might be able to work that out."I told her
"Alright.Let me know Aubrey."She said
"Alright.."I hung up
I got home and Oli was playing video games.
"Hey bro she's upstairs asleep."He said
I headed up the stairs and saw her snoring with her laptop in her lap.I grabbed it and put it on the table.
I tucked her in and kissed her head.
"Mm."She stirred
I watched her pat the bed beside her.
"Cuddle."She mumbled
"Okay baby."I said and undressed before climbing in bed with her
I held her small body close to mine.I woke up alone in bed.Jas was gone.I got up and went downstairs.I could hear her on the phone.
"Make things right with him.That's all I ask."She said
"Alright..thanks for calling.Mmkay bye."She hung up
I came behind her and held her waist.
"Fuck you scared me."She jumped
"Sorry."I chuckled
She turned to face me and just stared.
"What?"I asked
"I-...I want us to work things out somehow."She told me
"But?"I asked
"I don't know.."She mumbled
I looked in her eyes."I love you and you love me right?"
She nodded.
"Then that's all that should matter."I told her
She looked away from me and started to grab a glass of water.
"We should sit down and talk about things.Lay it all on the table."He said
All I heard was the fridge dispensing water into her cup.
"After you come home."She said
"Okay.No rush."I nodded
We sat and talked with Oli for a while about my album and tour before he decided to head home.
"I was gonna cook if that's cool."Jasmine said
"Of course.I'll help."I told her
She slightly smiled and we went into the kitchen.I turned on some r&b music and tried to help her cook but I was mostly distracting her.
"Aubrey stopppp!"She nudged me away
"What?I didn't even do anything!"I joked
She glared at me.
"I don't even know how you can still kiss on me with this ugly bandage on my face."She said
"I don't care nothing about that.I'll kiss on you anyway."I pulled her close
"Im trying to cook."She said
"Im trying to fu-
"Okay.What else is going on?"She pulled away quickly
I chuckled.
"No for real.You not gonna give me any before tour?"I asked her
"I hadn't planned on it."She said
"Do you think I owe you or something for taking care of me because I can leave."She added
"No.Of course not.C'mon...I just thought that we were getting close again and things might happen."I said
She shook her head and kept stirring the pasta.
"I don't do casual sex with people I love.Too many problems come up."She told me
I nodded.
The rest of the night she was kind of quiet.
"You okay?"I asked her
"Yeah.Do you like the food?"She asked
"Hell yeah.You did a great job."I rubbed her hand
She slightly smiled.
"Im sorry about earlier-
She shook her head."It's okay."
"You sure?I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable."I said
"Aub.It's fine.I promise."She said
I sipped my glass of wine.
"Im just gonna head to bed."She said
"Okay."I nodded
I watched her get up and put her plate in the kitchen before heading up the stairs.
"Fuck."I huffed.
I headed upstairs as well and could hear her light sniffles as I walked past her door.
"Jas."I knocked
"Aubrey please just- i-im fine."She stammered
I opened the door and saw her in the bed looking down at her phone.
"What's wrong?"I walked closer to her
"Nothing."She wiped her eyes
I looked down at her phone and saw a text from Travis.
She's pregnant.
I looked at her.
"Baby I'm sorry."I told her
"..It just keeps getting worse."She chuckled through her tears
"I'll be okay.Im just gonna go to bed."She added
"Are you sure?I can stay."I told her
"Im sure."She said and smiled
I kissed her head and went into my room.
"Fuck man."I groaned
A couple days later

I left Aubrey's a few days ago.I kinda felt like I was depressing him with my life.His album will be out in a week and I just don't wanna dampen his mood.
Travis is coming over today.To talk about whatever.Im just over all of this bullshit honestly.
I could finally take the ugly bandage off my nose now though.
I poured myself a glass of wine and waited to Travis to get here.
I heard a knock and then him unlock the door.I heard the door close behind him and he came into my view.He stood on the other side of the island.
"Hi."I said
"Hey."He said
I looked away from him.
"I-Im sorry."He said
"I don't need your apologies.You stuff is over there.I'll need my key."I told him
"That's it?"He asked
"You're not gonna yell or hit me?...nothing?You really dont care?"He asked
"NO!The fuck is wrong with you?"I raised my voice
I sighed."Get out.Get the fuck out."
"Jasmine.Let me explain."He said
"Explain what?You got her pregnant.You fucked that bitch raw and then came home to me!!"I said
"She's getting rid of it."He said
"I don't care.Get out."I said
He sighed and took my key off of his ring.The he grabbed the cardboard box from the living room.
I let him out.
"Im so-
I slammed the door shut and locked it.
Aubrey
Robyn and I sat down together.It was really good to see her.With all that Jas is going through, it's nice to be around a woman with no problems.
"So.How have you been Aubrey?"She smiled
"Great."I said plainly
"Are you sure?You seem a little stressed."She told me
I sighed roughly.
"Is it the girl?You said she was staying with you right?"She asked
I looked at her."Yeah..Jasmine."
"I thought you liked her.What's up?"She asked
"Being around her is just kind of draining.It's like nothing good happens to her.She's always in some bullshit."I said honestly
"Mm.You're a good guy.I know you're trying to help her but you can't do that at the expense of your sanity."She said
"Yeah..that's why Im glad she left."I said
"But you love her?"She asked with a smirk
"I don't know Rob.."I shrugged
"Well Im here now.So forget about that."She smiled
"No problem."I sipped my wine
After dinner, she got into my car with me and we headed back to her place.

I stared at the headline.I knew that clicking the article would only hurt me but I did it anyway.There sat a couple of photos of the two of them.
I couldn't help but stare.He told me he was going to New York but not for this.Not for her.
At least I know where I stand.
