"𝐀𝐘𝐄 𝐘𝐎' ma lemme holla' at chu' real quick!"
I sighed "Ight' so mami gave us 100 dollars," I said to Marco while we chewed on sour belts
I handed him 50 and he stuffed it into his puffy jacket.
"That man on drugs if he talking to you," Marco said cutting me off
"What's that supposed to mean?" I said while I pushed his shoulder lightly while he laughed
"Yo' hair ain't looking to—"
"Ight then bitch fuck you too!" The man said while he crossed the street almost getting hit as horns were heard from each direction.
"You know I just washed it," I explained while I touched my braided hair that laid over my shoulders.
"You deadass look like a whole butch," Marco said looking me up and down
I rolled my eyes and we walked into the Bodega.
"Yurrr," Marco said to Curly, the owner while dapping him up
Curly nods his head at me and I smile lightly while walking to the other isles.
"Whatchu' need?" Curly said sitting back down
"Lemme get uh-"
"Kahri you want something?" Marco questions
"Na' " I say grabbing an Arizona.
I felt a vibration from my phone seeing another text from my mom telling us to be safe since we were going to be out for a while. She asked me to pick something up for Lia, and Marco just decided to come with me.
I didn't mind it though.
I managed to get out of the hole I was in when I came home late so I was doing favors for her for the past few days.
I looked at my phone opening contacts glancing at Aries's number. I wanted to call him or text him myself. I just wanted to see how he was doing since it had been a few days since we last saw each other.
At least that's what I kept telling myself.
Marco came over to me and handed me the pack of the candy while taking a bite of his sandwich.
"You got something for mami?" I asked him
He held a plastic bag up and nodded.
I leaned in inhaling the smell of the sandwich "Mmm lemme get a bite"
Marco sucked his teeth lightly "You said yoself' you ain' want nothing"
"Marco stop being so selfish," I let out
He sucked his teeth and moved closer to me while I held his hand pushing the sandwich into my mouth. I smiled at him while I chewed and he walked to another aisle.
My phone vibrated again as the door of the store opened. I opened my phone reading another text message from my mom.
"Marco, is their toilet paper on that aisle?" I question
"Na ion' see anything," Marco said
"Curly lemme get ah chopped cheese and ah blt onna' roll extra mayo," The male asked
"Curly," I said looking at the rows
"Wassup baby girl, "
"W-where's your toilet paper at?" I said putting the candy in my mouth
"You don't see it?"
I shook my head as I looked around.
An arm reached over my head pushing their body into mine then moving back to hand the pack of toilet paper to me.
"Blind ass," He said smiling at me
I looked over at Aries and quickly threw my hoodie over my head. He pulled the candy out of my mouth breaking it and putting it into his mouth.
"I already seen yo' hair why you hiding it," He said chuckling
Of all days when Aries sees me I look a mess.
I continued to walk down the aisle with the toilet paper and he continued to follow me.
"How you been?" He questions grabbing a drink in the fridge
"Good y-you?" I say as I quickly glanced at him
He pulled my hoodie down looking at me "I wanna see yo' face so don't put that shit back on"
I looked over at him and watched as he pulled the end of one of my braids gently.
"Stop," I say moving his hands
He smiled at me and my stomach turned.
"You came here alone?" He said looking around
I shook my head "Marco's h-here with me"
I took a glance and didn't see him.
"Uhm wait a second," I say,
I went to each aisle and he wasn't there.
I looked over at Curly "His homie came in so he left wit' him"
I sighed in relief and felt a vibration from my phone. Of course, it had been from Marco. The least he could've done was tell me before he decided to leave.
"Have you been to Diamonds lately?" Aries asked as Curly gave him his food
I shook my head "I haven't been there for a while, but I'm coming back tonight," I said as I pulled my hoodie back up
"Bet I'll be there"
I smiled softly and coughed.
Curly looked at me as I placed my items on the counter. Aries came next to me opening his wallet handing him his card paying for the items. I rolled my eyes and could feel his eyes on me.
"Here Marco left this for you"
I grabbed the bags nodding.
"Thank you Curly," I say mumbling
I looked next to me still seeing Aries.
"You need a ride?" He asked
I shake my head "N-No I'm fine thank you"
He nodded "Right I'll meet you outside"

"What happened to y-your fancy car?" I asked
He looked at me smiling.
"Lemme' guess it was a rental?" I say before he could say anything
He stopped at the green light to look at me "Hell na' that's what we not gon' do"
"I was, playing," I say smiling
I began to laugh as he looked at me and began to drive again.
"Ion' even play like dat' I don't rent shit out," He told
I nodded and laughed softly as he kept looking at me back and forth. He slid his hand onto my inner thigh and I quickly stopped laughing and looked at him.
"Stop playing wimmie' "
Heat rushed into my cheeks as his hand laid there for the rest of the car ride. I saw us approaching my apartment and his hand squeezed my inner thigh.
"W-Wait," I say
He looked over at me "Wassup?"
"D-Don't park in front my mom kinda got mad at me the l-last time you brought me home"
Aries nodded.
He parked farther away from the entrance of my apartment parking his car behind a few other ones.
He moved his hand and I could finally breathe properly.
"Thank you for the ride a-and for paying for my stuff," I say,
He nods.
"How's ya' eye?" He questions
"Much better thanks," I say quickly while unbuckling my seatbelt
"Lemme' see," He says unbuckling his seat belt
He lifts his hand and I hit it instantly. He stares at me confused and my cheeks flush.
"S-Sorry. . .r-reflexes" I mumbled
He reaches over touching my neck and I shiver slightly while he tilts my head.
"It got a lot better," he says looking at me directly in my eyes.
I look down not being able to hold eye contact with him anymore.
My hands clenched onto my jacket tightly. He tilts my chin up staring at me caressing my skin with his rough hands.
My stomach felt weird as I squeezed my thighs together.
He takes a glance at my lips licking his own and began to lean towards me.
I close my eyes tightly once his lips press against mine.
His lips felt warm and soft and felt like the last time we had kissed but somehow at the same time, the feeling had felt foreign to me.
I knew it had been a while since the last time we saw and touched each other was a while ago but it didn't feel like it.
It felt like old times.
Our feelings towards each other were most likely gone but once he pulled back to look at me I knew mine never left.
He leaned in again sucking on my bottom lip and slipped his tongue into my mouth and I invited him in by parting my lips still remembering the tips he gave me a while back.
Everything was happening so quickly as I tried to keep up. His hand went to my thigh again squeezing it. I hesitated to wrap my arms around him but did it anyway.
My body felt hot and my stomach had been bubbling. His hands wrap around my waist and he lightly squeezes it.
I let out a small noise and instantly moved back.
"S-Sorry" I whispered with my head down
He chuckled lifting my head.
"You ain't do nothing wrong Kahri," he said with his puffy lips
His thumb rubbed against my bottom lip kissing it one last time.
"You so damn fine you know dat' right?" Aries whispered into my ear
I felt even warmer and would rather go outside at this point.
He pulled back smiling at me "You should get inside" he said sitting back
I nod slowly "Y-yea okay t-thank you again"
I opened the door and waved to his car as he nodded.
I began to walk towards my apartment collecting my thoughts trying to figure out what had just happened.
I placed my hand over my heart as it thumped quickly.
I knew that I shouldn't be assuming anything from that kiss but I couldn't help it.
What did it mean to him?
As time went by it began to get late and nighttime came around and I started to get ready for Diamond's. I checked each room and watched as everyone had been sleeping. I kissed each of their cheeks before leaving.
I threw my duffel bag over my shoulder and headed right to Diamonds. As soon as I walked in I headed straight to the dressing rooms.
The last person I wanted to see was Jerome.
As I began to untangle my braids and get dressed I felt arms wrap around me. I looked in the mirror seeing Indigo and Candy.
I smiled hugging them back, I hadn't seen them in so long.
As the girls all got dressed I found myself zoning out.
"Kahri!"
I turned around looking at Candy and Indigo.
"Y-yea sorry what were you saying?" I question
My mind had been so fuzzy from what had happened earlier that I couldn't stop thinking about it.
I touched my cheeks and they were burning hot.
"Kahri the fuck wrong wit' you?"
I looked over at them again and sighed.
"Lemme guess it's that nigga?" Candy questioned moving closer
My cheeks flushed while I nodded.
"What happened between the both of y'all?" Indigo asked
"Nothing," I say smiling
They both stared at me with smirks on their face "Oh na' now you gotta put us on." Candy said smiling
I grinned "Ight so boom."

After getting off the pole and collecting my money I went straight to the bar. Indigo had been there so I wanted to see her.
I wore my favorite high clear heels and wore a bright pink strapless bodysuit that had flowy sleeves. My hair had been in a curly afro that had been parted into a side part.
I sat on one of the bar stools smiling in front of her. She turned around giving a female a drink then looking at me.
"Look at chu' all happy and shit—" Indigo said before Candy came out of nowhere
"I love it," Candy said kissing my cheek sitting next to me
"You must really like him," Indigo says wiping the counter down
I smiled and nodded. "I do."
As we all talked I could see Jerome laughing with the customers with a lady that had been all over him.
"There he go wit' that same ole bitch." Candy said
"Who is she?" I asked
I never saw her before but since I wasn't working at the club recently I wouldn't be surprised that he would try to "replace" me. They headed towards us and I could tell he was going to talk to me.
"Kahri," Jerome said waving his finger towards me
I got up and followed both of them.
We ended up in his office while she sat on his lap in his chair.
"Kahri this is Layla she gon' be working here soon," he said staring at her
She hit his chest playfully while laughing "I said maybe"
He leaned in kissing her sloppily while I stood there waiting for them to be finished.
"Well it was nice to meet you, Layla," I say
She looked at me smiling and looked back at Jerome.
"I wanted her to be my new Bunny but you decided to come today"
I nodded "I thought I h-had told you why I wasn't here f-for the past few days, Jerome," I said beginning to remember what happened in the alley.
He looked at me and shook his head "What I tell you about them shit excuses Kahri"
"Their not excuses," I say,
"Kahri if you want to keep lying get the fuck out my office ight," He said as the girl put a cigarette in his mouth lighting it for him
I nodded and walked right out. I went right back to the bar to frustrated to even sit down.
"What he say?" Candy said shaking his head
I began to ramble and rant to them as they listened.
"And he had the nerve t-to say what happened a few days ago was an excuse basically saying I'm some big liar" I explain
Indigo shook her head "I can't stand that nigga at all"
"Ion' know what the fuck that girl doing for him but I just know she using the fuck outta him," Candy said,
"Oh yeah most def' " Indigo said agreeing
"All I know is that he ain't shit and the bitch that's in there with him ain't shit either," Candy said
"Damn what she do?" Indigo asked
"She wanna roll ha' eye-" Candy began to say then stopping
I could feel large arms wrap around me, and that same expensive scent that only came from one person.
My knees began to feel weak as he pushed himself closer to my body laying his head over my shoulder. My cheeks felt warm as I looked up at Candy and Indigo.
"Mmm look who it is," Candy said crossing her legs to look at Aries
I looked over a little and saw his strong and soft features.
He let me go and I turned around to look at him. He had a light smile on his face showing his gold grills as he leaned in.
"Do y'all fucking mind?" He said looking up at the girls.
"Aries, " I say
"Who the fuck he talking to?" Indigo said as she looked over at Candy pointing towards Aries
"Na' cuz' this nigga got me fucked up" Indigo had already begun to walk to the other side
Candy got up looking at me "Kahri get yo' nigga before he get beat the fuck up"
Candy quickly pulled Indigo's arm walking away and left both of us. He sat down on the bar stools and pulled me between his legs.
"A-Aries t-that was mean," I say mumbling
He sighed rubbing his hands against my waist "She tight fo' no damn reason I was playin' wit' ha' "
"Alright, but when you see her p-please say sorry. ." I say
He pushes me closer to himself and nods "Ight I will"
"You promise you gonna say sorry to both of them," I say
He nods "Yes Kahri."
I smile and he kisses my neck softly.
"I wanna take you out," Aries says to me out of nowhere
I couldn't help but smile "W-What like a date?"
"Yea where you tryna' go?"
I hadn't even thought about anything like that the only thing that was on my mind had been school my siblings and my mom.
"Like anywhere?" I question
He nods "Hell yea where you wanna go somewhere fancy or somewhere basic, regardless ima' spoil you."
I smile and shrugged "I don't know."
"Think about it ight?"
I nod smiling "Okay."
He lifts his hand over my hair to get his drink that he had ordered. I watched him take a sip and lick his lips.
"What you want sum' ?" He asked shaking the glass as the round ice cubs began to melt
I nodded softly and he chuckled.
"You even know what I'm drinking?"
I nodded.
"What?" he asked
"Liquor," I stated
He began to laugh "No shit Kahri."
I tried to grab the glass and he grabbed it.
"You mad young stop tryna grab my shit," He told
He took a sip again looking at me he set the cup down and lifted my chin leaning towards me. My stomach churns and it feels exactly like what happened in the car today but everything is heightened.
The taste of the alcohol and his cold wet lips send tingles down my spine and I forget we're in a club at the bar section.
His kisses always used to make my mind blank knowing that it never changed made me happy.
He pressed his wet lips against my neck and my legs give up on me. I tip over a little bit and he grabs my arm holding me up.
"Oh shit you good?" he said between laughs
I nodded with a smile feeling a little dizzy.
"Aries!"
We both look over to see Layla Jerome's girl.
He looked at her placing his glass down then facing me again.
"So you know what you tryna do yet?" He questions
I shook my head and could still see her standing there waiting for a response from him.
"Aries I know damn well you hear me." She spoke
He wrapped his arms around my waist.
"A-Aries I think she wants to t-talk to you," I mumbled
"Yea I do and he knows that," She said getting louder rolling her eyes at me
He looked at me shrugging "You hear some?"
"So this what you like now Aries? Strippers?" Layla said
Once she said that my lips pursed and I sighed softly.
Aries was a good guy but he didn't deserve some stripper that had enough problems.
He looked at me as I stood there not saying anything.
"Yo' shut the fuck up ya' blowin' me right now," Aries said to her as she shook her head
"Karly—or whatever the fuck yo' name is can you leave us alone for a second?" Layla said to me
"O-Okay," I say,
I nodded and pushed away from Aries.
"Where the fuck you goin'?" He said holding onto my wrist
"She not going nowhere Layla so fuck out my face wit' that shit," He said
I could tell he began to get frustrated as his veins began to pop out of his forehead.
He got up looking at me "Text me ight?"
I nodded.
He walked past Layla and she looked at me as soon as he was gone she grabbed her coat running after him.
