Chapter No.154 Engineering.

Building great works is inevitable.

We were unable to find any signs of life on all six planets, so that meant we could use them to supply the material for building our Dyson Sphere.

I decided to give Alex that project. Alexa and I had the job of slowing the spin rate of the M-class star so that it wouldn't be emitting as many powerful flares. However, we didn't want to lower its spin rate too much because that could lead to instability within the star.

"We won't be making one as large as the one in Andromeda," Alex said. "Since the M-class star is much lower in luminosity than a G-class we can have the interior surfaces nearer to the star. However, that will cause problems with trying to keep the sphere in a proper position relative to the star."

"It will also need a much stronger magnetic shield to protect against radiation. Even though Alexa and I can slow the star's rotation it will continue to emit strong flares."

"I'm sure we can build up a stronger magnetic shield. Our solar cell technology is more efficient than what those aliens used on the Dyson sphere in Andromeda."

"Normally, we use automated mining robots to obtain metals and other materials," Alex said. "In this case we have to deal with planets."

"We'll create asteroids by blasting the planets apart," I said.

Our attention was diverted by Judy's report.

"There are twelve vessels coming out of warp at a hundred thousand kilometers," Judy said.

"What is their configuration?"

"Explorer-1," she said.

"Go to Red Alert. Increase shielding and prepare for battle."

"We have made contact with them," Judy said. "They are requesting assimilation."

I turned to Alexa. "This could be a Tyco trick."

"No doubt," she replied.

"How many individuals are there?" I asked Judy.

"forty-eight thousand androids of mixed type."

"They could be a group trying to escape Tyco's influence," Molly said.

"That's possible, but where did they come from?"

"Our scans indicate that they are from another universe," Judy told us.

"She's right," Molly said. "The quantum signatures indicate it's from a universe we haven't visited."

I rubbed my jaw. "Interesting. Is there any way to determine which one it is?"

"We'll have to correlate it with the Roamer's multiverse data," Molly said.

I stood up. "I suppose I had better go see what's going on."

I teleported to the command deck of the vessel that appeared to be closer to ours. There were six androids there, three were black haired and the others were red heads.

"I am Jason, Prime Mover of our android collective."

They didn't react and that told me that I was about to be attacked.

The figure flew out of the elevator and was headed directly at me. I stopped time just before it collided with me. It wasn't an android. My inspection of it indicated that it was a robot.'

I called for Alexa to teleport to my location and she did.

"I stopped time before this collided with me. I'm not sure what the hell it is."

Alexa ran a scan of it. "It's entirely robotic. It also contains a very powerful antimatter device. I don't think It's a Tyco avatar."

"I suppose it doesn't matter. Dispose of it."

She made it disappear, and I started up time, but immediately stopped it again.

"What's wrong?" Alexa asked, her face twisted with concern.

"I sense another danger, but I'm not sure what it is."

She looked around, using her scanner. When she scanned the androids on the command deck, she knew what was wrong. "They all have bombs in them timed to explode at the same instant."

"That's probably true of the androids in the other ships," I said.

She blinked her eyes. "Yes, you're right."

"Okay, let's get rid of them."

I took us several minutes of time suspension dimensional shift to remove all of the bombs from the androids.

"Okay, it should be safe to start up time . . . I hope."

When time commenced, the androids on the command deck turned to look at Alexa and me.

"We are grateful for what you have done for us," the one that was in the navigator station said.

"I assume that you were sent here to destroy me," I said.

"We offer us to you."

"I welcome you into our collective. You will find that our collective is much more amicable to your needs. Your vessels will be brought up to our standards and you will be issued new uniforms."

She nodded, and that was it. Alexa and I teleported back to our vessel.

"They have been added to our collective," Judy informed me.

"Good. Begin work on upgrading their vessels."

Judy nodded. Molly's, Alex's and My assistants would teleport to the vessels to make sure that the updates were installed correctly. Molly, Alex, Alexa and I also went to the vessels to help them and also scan for possible Tyco devices. We found none. Evidently, Tyco was hoping that his robot would have eliminate me.

Three days later we were ready to begin the construction of our Dyson sphere. We started by blasting the planets to asteroid size. I was amazed by how easy it was to destroy an entire planet. In the hands of someone as evil as Tyco, it would be an easy way to eliminate an enemy.

Alexa and I teleported the asteroid mining robot ships and the construction robotic devices to our location. We had plenty of androids to help in the construction. They didn't need training. All that was needed was engineering drawings, which were totally digital.

Alex and I supervised the construction which was occurring at an accelerated rate because of the efficiency of android brain functions and their robotic-like physical powers. This project would not have been possible without the fact that we had over a hundred thousand androids to help us.

The first task was to create a giant steel alloy girder that would encircle the star like a planetary ring. But this ring would be huge, in the range of 59 million kilometers in circumference. With a width of ten kilometers and a thickness of ten meters, it would weight one hell of a lot. Something that huge would have to be assembled in sections while in space away from the star and then moved into place very carefully. Then, twenty more horizontal rings would need to be built and connected together with vertical rings that would be attached to smaller rings at the poles. Compared to building a spherical ship, this project would be orders of magnitude more difficult.

However, the project would take many months to complete. Something was about to happen that would divert our attention.
