Luz POV
Right now, is amazing! I am walking with a prince! A cute one to boot.
"Nethrath, your vengeful backstory is so compelling. And I'm loving your animal sidekick." I said as I pet a small onion like fairy that floated next to me.
"After my village was consumed, my heart knows nothing but vengeance." Nethrath says as he gazed a head of us.
I couldn't help it, but, the way looks right now, reminds me of (Y/n). I swore she had an expression like that years ago, almost, broken.
"Nethrath," I said as I try to comfort him.
"Lady Luz, do you think love can bloom on the battlefield?" Nethrath says dramatically as he came to face me.
........ This quest is questing in all the right way.
~Time skip~
Nethrath and I have just arrived to a bridge, however, we were stopped by an old looking cat.
"Hum de diddle, for you to cross the bridge, you must first answer these two riddles." He says as he bounce around side to side.
"Hit me little furry man!" I said with excitement.
"Your quest shall stop if you fail this game, so tell me my dear, what is my name?" The small cat man asks. I hummed as I looked at him before catching a name tag: Chris
"Um, Chris?" I said with raised eyebrow.
"That is it! Now, your last riddle. What can be described as a bond that can't be unbound, even in the tedious of circumstances?" Chris says as I took quick notice to hear a semi dark tone in his voice.
I pondered for a while, trying to figure out the riddle. I don't know why, a memory of me and (Y/n) came to mind. ".... True Friendship," I muttered out without consent. Weird.
"By jolly! You are right! You may cross the bridge!" Chris says in a happy tune. "And please take this chosen one. It will help you on you journey." Chris says as he gave me a ring with a sapphire jewl
"Wow, this is amazing. Thank you," I said before slipping on the ring on my finger.
"Do you need a cape?" Nethrath asks.
"No, I think I'm g-"
"You can use my shirt!" Nethrath exclaims as he rips off his shirt, showing his buff up bod...... If (Y/n) was here, she would probably faint.
"YES! I need cape!" I exclaimed as he tied his shirt around my shoulders.
"Three cheers for the chosen one!" Nethrath says as they all cheered for me. I couldn't help but feel appreciated! The only one who appreciate me like this is-
3ed POV
"Oh no," (Y/n) and eda says in unison and annoyance.
Right now, (Y/n), Eda, and King at an entrance of a broken down village.
"Are you sure she came here?" Eda asks as she looked at King, who was sniffling the ground.
"I can't mistake her smell. Like lemons and naive confidence," King replys.
Eda then walked up to a dulled color light pink cat that was in a fountain, but upon farther expectation, it was like a puppet.
"Hey, wake up you. What have you done with Luz. What's your end game?" Eda questions the puppet.
"To find your pupil and still your wrath, move ahead and follow the path." The cat says in a disoriented squeaky voice.
(Y/n) growled before snatch the puppet out of Eda's hand, who was startled by the sudden action.
"Cut the riddle crap! Tell us, where is my friend, you no good piece of wood!" (Y/n) yelled, angered if something happened her friend.
"Follow the path ahead, and you shall see. The road before you is the key," the cat laughed before it shriveled up and turned to dust.
"Aaah! The cat man melted!" King screams as Eda stands up with a sigh.
"It's a trap. They want me to follow Luz." Eda explains as she dusts herself.
"What we going to do then? We can't just barge in while we know it's a trap." Said (Y/n) as she looked around the village before looking back at Eda.
"...... Right?"

Luz, Nethrath, Chris, and a princess of fairy's walked into a clearing between the trees that loomed over them.
"Thank you for inviting me to your feast, princess. All your food is so tiny and cute," Luz compliments the princess, who then gave Luz two decorated green bracelets.
"For you, chosen one," the fairy said in a kind high pitched voice as Luz places on her wrist with a smile.
"Thank you, you all have been so kind and thoughtful. I hope this quest never ends!" Luz says happily, that is, before Chris pipes up.
"Your quest will soon come to an end, the staff you seek is around the bend." Luz looked at Chris with a blank stare.
"Thanks for ruining the mood, Chris." Luz says as she slumps her shoulders.
"Go on, chosen one. The Celestial staff is yours," said Nethrath as he beckons Luz forward. "You've earned it."
Luz smiles as everyone said their goodbyes as Luz ventures further into the forest thickets.
After a while of walking, Luz stumbles across a lake, and in the middle of it, was the Celestial staff sitting on a pedestal. Luz moves closer to the lake to feel a light rumble beneath her feet, she looked down to see a pathway leading to the staff.
"I knew this world wasn't just gloom and doom like what Eda and King said, there is wonder here. And I. I think I came here for a reason!" Luz says before stopping to bask in the staff sudden light, tempting her to come closer. ".... Ok, this is it. Moment of truth," Luz spoke softly before reaching out her hands and grabbing the staff.
In an instant, power swirled around, making large ripples in the water before it calmed down as Luz held up the staff. "Yes! I am the chosen one! I knew it! I always expected there was a reason nobody understand my waky antics back at home! Well, maybe except (Y/n). But now, I have concrete proof!" Luz laughed in triumph, until, the staff turned to dust and everything around seem to die and disappear before Luz's eyes. "What?"

(Y/n)'s POV
"I know this guy, he's no wizard. He's what you call, a puppeteer. A demon who's specialized in scamming and manipulating people." Eda tells me and King as we zipped through the canopy of trees. "He's trying to use Luz to get to me."
"Yeah, and we're flying directly into his trap. Hooray!" King sarcastically exclaims over my shoulder.
"If you can think of a better plan, I would love to hear it." Eda back sassed King, "Hey, faster you!" Eda said as she slapped her staff, causing it to bolt through the trees.
I yelped as I clung to Eda as I felt the branches bump into us. 'Hold on Luz, we're coming!'
~Back To Luz POV~
A big cloud of dust fog was surrounding me, making it hard for me to see an exit. I think I'm starting to regret about not listening to Eda.
"Luz the human," said a familiar voice behind me. I looked to see Adegast with a smile.
"Magical Wizard?" I asked as I felt my mussels loosen up. That is, until I see a dark silhouette behind him.
"Your hubris has failed you! Witch apprentice!" Adegast yells before he became limp as the dark figure starts to take form of a huge creature, laughing maniacally.
Then, from all around me, the people that I thought that was on my side was surrounding me with blank stares while being manipulated by large octopus like arms.
"Alright Luz, don't panic. This is classical chosen one biz. You just have to rescue everyone and defeat the final boss." I said quietly to motivate myself.
"I am everybody. Fool! Don't you see? I'm no wizard, and you're no chosen one. I trickled you!" The demon said in a dark harsh tone.
"What?" I said before everything that was a gift to me restraint my movement. "Betrayed by my own cool accessories." I frowned at the mess that I had made. "Why are you doing this?!" I glared at the demon.
"Your mentor has been stealing customers for my potions business for years. She must be destroyed!" The demon said through Adegast.
"Does everyone have a beef with Eda here?" I questioned, the puppets nod their heads while giving out an agreement reply.
"And you lured her right to my trap! All because you want to feel special." The demon said with a sickening smile.
I couldn't move, and I felt numb. It was all a trick to trap Eda?
Did I had false hope?
I'm not special?
I'm....... So dumb.
"No! Jokes on you. Cause Eda isn't stupid enough to fall for your trap," I yelled at him.
"Adegast!" A familiar voice said behind the trees. I just had to jinx it.
3ed POV
"Release Luz right now, you overgrown sushi!" Yelled (Y/n), who is fuming with anger.
"Eda, I have you now!" Adegast says as more puppets appear and grabbed Eda, King, and (Y/n) before lifting them up into the air.
"That's right, you have me. Now release Luz!" Eda glared at the demon.
"I didn't have to be apart of this!" King yells as he struggles to free himself.
"King, now is not the right time to complain!" (Y/n) growled to King as she squirms and kicks at the demon's arm that held her captive.
"Oh she can leave, if she wants to. But I scene that she wants a real fantasy." Adegast says before one of the puppets lets out a purple fog around Luz.
"NO! LUZ!" (Y/n) screams before her worry starts to be replaced with rage. "Let her go! Or I'm going to make sure you will regret you ever tricked her in the first place!"
"Oh really? I'm shaking with fear! Oooh! I beg of you! Have mercy! Oh please, your not going to do anything. Not while you're in my grip." Adegast scoffed, "but I'll admit, your the first one to not be fooled by my facade when we first met. I'm impressed." Adegast chuckled darkly as (Y/n) held her glare at the demon.
"What are you doing to her?!" (Y/n) barked with a dark look in her eyes.
"Right now, she is facing what she wants. A place where she feels wanted, a place that she is a chosen one to everyone around her." Adegast snickered with a evil grin.
"Luz won't give in! She's stronger than you think she is! I would know, I knew her the past ten years!" (Y/n) argued, but was met with a chuckle.
"Sure she is. But what are you going to do? You are trapped, she's trapped. The way I see it, she is beyond saving. Now. DIE." Adegast laughed maniacally as he starts to tighten his grip on the three.
"LUZ! YOU NEED TO WAKE UP! LUZ!" (Y/n) yelled before she being to suffocate.
"(Y/N)! NO!" Eda yelled as she tried to reach out for (Y/n)'s visible hand. "LUZ!"
Everything was starting to get dark in (Y/n)'s vision. 'Is this it? Am, dying? Luz.... I'm sorry... I couldn't.... Reach you in time....'
"Let go of my friends!" A voice yells out as a sudden burst of air entered (Y/n)'s lungs. She can feel her blood pumping throughout her body, and the feeling of her ribs were sore, due to the pressure. She looks up to see Luz's back facing her. "I am an witch's apprentice, and I'm gonna earn my magic staff the hard way!"
"L-Luz..." (Y/n) rasped out, amazed by her friend's determination.
"Don't worry (Y/n), I got this one." Luz smiles over her shoulder to (Y/n). "And hey.... You can count us even now. Because, this is for what you did for me those years ago." Luz says as she adverts her attention back to Adegast. "I believed you magic man. Now feel my wrath!" Luz yells as she stabs the wizard puppet, causing the demon to scream in pain. It was enough to free Eda and King from their binding.
"(Y/n)! Are you alright?" King asks as he bents down to check up on his friend.
"Yeah. Just a few naps when we get back to the house, I'll be fine." (Y/n) lightly coughs that was mixed in with a laugh.
Without knowing, a tentacle arm was about to grab King from behind, but (Y/n) noticed a quickly reacted.
"Watch out!" (Y/n) yelled as she push King away and took the grab for him.
"(Y/n)!" King screams in shock at what transpired.
"Back off! Or else the feisty one gets it!" Adegast exclaims as he holds up a squirming (Y/n), grunting in pain. That grip she is in, is making her sore ribs worser.
"(Y/n), I'm sorry. I should have listen to you and never had trusted that wizard." Luz speaks up as she and Eda drops their sword and staff. "King, you were right, he is not mystical or magical.... He is just a big slimy jerk!" Luz yells out before kicking the sword's handle that then was sent flying towards Adegast and stabbing him in the head.
Adegast screams in pain as he lets go of (Y/n), who landed into the arms of Eda and Luz. The four of them watched as Adegast screams louder before slowly shrinking to the point he was half the hight of their shoes.
"Well, this is the last time I take an outside referral." Eda says after picking up the now very small demon and plopping it into her mouth, eating him. "Oh, did you guys wanted some of that?" Eda asks.
(Y/n) shutters in disgust and shook her head.
"I'm so confused," Luz says as she hold King in one arm and the other is helping (Y/n) to keep her balance.
"Thinking of calling it quits, huh?" Eda asks as she folds her ams.
"This place isn't what I thought I'd imagine." Luz says as she lays side of her head on (Y/n)'s slightly bruised shoulder.
"Luz..." (Y/n) muttered before laying her side of her head on Luz's leaned on one.
"Hmm, well maybe not here. But come with me." Eda says as she beckons the girls onto her staff.

Eda had Luz and (Y/n) wear blindfolds, what they both can feel, they are pretty high up.
"Ok, you two can look." Eda finally says as the two took off their blindfolds to see an incredible sight.
"Whoa." The teenage duo gasped in unison as they see a huge demon skeleton before them.
"The bones of the isles. Up close, the isles can be slimy-"
"And very stinky," King adds as he interupted Eda.
"And gross.... But if you look in a different perspective," Eda says as she gazed up at the sky.
Above the demon's skull, a blue streak flys over head. A shooting star.
"It's beautiful," Luz comments in satisfaction.
"Yeah, it really is." (Y/n) continue to look at the stars as King lays his head on her chest. Already sound asleep.
"Eda, how did you know that wizard was lying. I know (Y/n) has a little bit of trust issues-"
"Oi," (Y/n) says as she lightly nudges Luz arm, both laughing a bit.
"But, how?" Luz continues her sentence for Eda.
"Everyone wants to believe that they are chosen. But if we all waited around for a prophecy to make us special, we die waiting. That is why, you need to choose yourself." Eda answers with a somewhat knowledgeable expression on her face when she explained to Luz.
"She's right, ya' know? I didn't want to say this to hurt you, but, sometimes, you have to take what's given to you. If you wait around for something to happen to you, it ain't going to happen just out of the blue. If you keep on waiting, your going to get yourself hurt. emotionally, or physically. I don't want to see you in pain Luz, your my best friend. But I know you, I know you will make the right choices." (Y/n) said as she gave Luz a side hug.
Luz smiles before she looks up at Eda, "Does that mean we are getting a staff of our own?"
"Not yet. But, someday." Eda says as she continues to watch the sunset.
Luz smiles as she wraps an arm behind (Y/n)'s neck and leans her head on Eda's shoulder.
