"Okay so you need to tell me, why you were at Washington." I spoke to the man in the red suit next to me. We were both sitting at our usual place, swinging our legs from the railing of my fire escape.
"I told you, I-uh had something to uh-do..." he answered, I looked at him suspiciously.
"Seriously? That's the best answer you can give me?" I asked him.
"Yeah, what else am I supposed to say?"
"Well, I-I just want you to be more opened to me. Like I've told you everything."
"Not everything."
"Same difference." I snapped. "Ugh, like I've been talking to you for more than months now and I-I don't even know your name."
"Fine! My name is Peter-Peterson—My last name is Peterson."
"Right... Then what's your actual first name, Peterson?"
"Just call me Peterson."
"Okay, thanks for telling me one of your names though." I replied, still a bit annoyed. I stopped and realised that maybe I had gone too far. I looked at Spiderman in the eye, "Peterson, I'm so sorry. I guess I'm just a bit tired nowadays. Forgive me." I apologised.
He put his hand on my shoulder, "Hey, hey don't apologise! I get it being a student is hard and the fact that you nearly had a near death experience is stressful too."
I smiled weakly, "Thank you so much, Mr Spiderman. It's uh- lately I've been stressful about that and something else... It's..." I took a deep breath in and out.
"It's this guy... I'm having mixed feelings, I know he likes someone else but I-I keep thinking about him. Maybe cause I spend like majority of the day with him because he's my l-lab partner but I really don't know..."
"Your lab part-partner?"
"Yeah, him. Peter." I plastered a smile.
Spiderman cleared his throat and sat up straight, "Why a-are you getting those fe-feelings about him?"
"Because... Ugh- I don't know, he seems so genuine and he's so different- you know. You know him."
"No, I don't know know him. I just met him once or-uh twice."
"Yeah, well- I better fold my feelings up because he likes someone else." I chuckled.
"Wh-what? How would you know he likes so-someone else?"
"Duh. It's so obvious. I- mean even if I was a guy, I would like Liz too." I sighed.
"Right... But what if—"
"Just trust me, he does like her."
Spiderman didn't respond. So I continued, "But the funny thing is, he- sort of asked me to go to Brooklyn Bridge Park on Friday so that's-uh nice. But it's probably because we're lab partners."
He nodded, "But-uh it may be something else too, Y/N."
"No way." I chuckled.
"Y/N, you're a really wonderful person and I promise you it would be a shame if boys didn't-um like you- back..."
I smirked, "Huh, thanks Peterson. You definitely know how to make a person feel better."
